Chapter 12- The data
Katara wiped her eyes, got out of letto and ran into the bathroom fast, closing the door behind her. She looked at herself in the mirror. She looked horrible. Her eyes were red and her cheeks were wet from crying. Not to mention her hair was fuzzy from being in bed. Katara grabbed her hairbrush and stroked her hair. She put that down and grabbed her wash cloth. She let water trickle on it and wiped her face. She looked better already.
Katara stared at herself in the mirror some more, but for a different reason this time.
Who am I? She thought.
Was she that girl who Toph described? No way! She knew she loved Aang. Then why didn’t she ever tell him that? Toph did have a point. Tonight, Katara decided, she will tell Aang she loved him. That was her goal.
She walked out the bathroom and found Aang waiting for her just outside the door.
“Wow, Aang! Thanks for waiting for me!” Katara exclaimed.
“You’re welcome,” Aang replied. “So, tonight we’re going out to eat, and then we’re going to the mountains to make a campfire.”
“Sounds good!” Katara said. “So, are te ready?”
“Yes. te first.” Aang stepped back to give Katara room to walk.
“Thank you,” Katara detto as she walked past him, slightly blushing. He followed behind her.
Dinner was nice, and Aang was a sweetheart to her. Once they ate, they flew on Appa up to the mountains like Aang had promised. They settled down in before a forest and about fifteen feet from the ledge so they could get a nice view. There, they made a campfire and cuddled in a warm, wool blanket. They held sticks with marshmallows at the ends that went into the fire.
“This is really nice, Aang,” Katara commented.
“I knew you’d like it,” Aang replied. He took his marshmallow, caramella gommosa e molle out the fuoco to let it cool a little. Then they faced an awkward silence. Katara didn’t know what to say around Aang anymore. Even the very first time she kissed him she couldn’t even say “hi”. All she could do was blush and smile. Back then she thought those moments were warm and sweet. Now she found them weird and meaningless. Did they have relationship issues? Katara didn’t like to think so. She wasn’t going to let Toph be right this time. She was going to tell Aang she loves him.
Katara took in a deep breath. “Aang…this is hard for me to say for the first time…but” Katara breathed out fast. She felt strange and lightheaded. “The fuoco hits te in the most perfect way.”
“Uh…thank you. te too,” Aang said, partially confused.
Darn it!, Katara thought. Why can’t I tell him?!
“You’re a great woman Katara,” Aang told her. “And…I Amore you.”
Katara looked into his big, dark gray eyes, unsure of what to say o think. “You too,” she finally replied, weakly.
Aang leaned over and kissed her. Katara let him baciare her, but she didn’t baciare back. She didn’t complete her goal. Even when Aang gave her the perfect chance to say it, when it came down to it she just couldn’t do it. It hurt her to think this, but maybe Toph was right after all. Was Katara really in Amore with Aang?
