The live-action/CGI Alvin and the Chipmunks film franchise is an adaptation of Ross Bagdasarian's Alvin and the Chipmunks franchise. Ross Bagdasarian's son, Ross Bagdasarian Jr., and his wife, Janice Karman, worked on the films. There were four films in the franchise: 2007's Alvin and the Chipmunks (directed da Tim Hill), 2009's Squeakquel (directed da Betty Thomas), 2011's Chipwrecked (directed da Mike Mitchell) and 2015's The Road Chip (directed da Walt Becker).
