Full of excitement, Nicole and Ellie arrived at the fairground. They walked through the towering gates, expecting laughter and chatter – but everything remained quiet. No music, no noise, nothing! The place was deserted. A strong gust of wind blew, making them shiver. As they walked on, it began to get darker. Gradually, the sky turned from a bright blue to black. One da one the lights of the fairground flickered on, illuminating the black sky. As they passed da The Haunted Mine, it seemed to be inviting them to have a go. A man clad completely in black was waiting beside the entrance.

“Can we have a go, please?” Ellie asked him, fishing around in her pocket for their tokens. His eyes fixed her with a cold stare. A thin, bony hand reached out and grabbed the two tokens from her hand.
“Front cart” barked the man.
Ellie looked unsure but Nicole pulled her over to the flaking, brown cart. They clambered in and pulled the safety bar down.
Without warning, their carrello rattled and rocked before speeding off through the tunnel. The two girls were having a good time until their carrello abruptly stopped. At first they thought it was part of the ride but later realized it wasn’t. Ellie started shrieking whilst Nicole tried to lift the bar. Despite her frenzied attempt, it stayed firmly in place. She kept trying but only succeeded in tipping their cart.

After struggling on the ground, the bar flew up. The girls scrambled to their feet, looking around.
“If we walk on, we’re bound to come to an exit” detto Nicole, trying to sound reassuring.
“Ok” replied Ellie, nodding.
What they didn’t realise was that they were actually walking downhill. Suddenly, a loud bang made them jump.
“I think we’re going the wrong way” Ellie began, looking at her feet.
The track had disappeared.
“Where’s the track gone?” Nicole asked her but Ellie didn’t have the faintest clue.

“I think we should walk back” Nicole decided at last.
Slowly, they began heading back the way they came, certain that they would see the track. It seemed never ending! At last they came to the path that they’d come down, but they got a shock. As they’d been walking, Ellie had tripped over what appeared to be a thin wire. And now a gate had appeared, blocking their way!
“Where did that come from?” Ellie asked, terrified.
“I don’t know, but we need to get out of here” replied Nicole.
“How though?” continued Ellie “There’s no other exit, well, I haven’t seen one, anyway.”
“There has to be!” Nicole replied, determinedly.

The girls walked back, thinking hard. Ellie glanced at her watch. It was half past nine. They’d been trapped for around half an ora and were meant to be home for quarter past ten.
“We need to get out of here and go home” Ellie told Nicole, who agreed.
Both of them racked their brains. Five minuti past; nothing, ten minutes; still nothing.
“I’m fed up!” Nicole burst out “I don’t know where we are o what we’re doing here. But I’m getting out of here!”
“How do te plan on doing that?” Ellie asked her.
Nicole just shrugged her shoulders and marched off, arms folded across her chest.
“Wait!” Ellie shouted after her, but Nicole ignored her.

All of a sudden, there was a scream. Nicole’s scream! Ellie knew that she had to save her friend but fear for her own safety stopped her. Summoning all of her courage, she hurried after Nicole, trying to calm herself. Ellie had the feeling that someone was watching her. This made her panic. When she turned a corner, a woman stood before her.

The woman had chalk-white skin, deep red lips painted even darker with lipstick and green eyes which appeared to be glowing. She was dressed all in black (like the man at the entrance) but she had fingernails as long as daggers which were painted the same crimson colour as her lips. The glowing green eyes fixed her with a piercing stare. That was when Ellie saw Nicole. She looked the same as normal except that she was completely motionless and her eyes were closed.

Ellie’s cuore thumped uncontrollably against her rib cage. Without thinking, she pushed past the woman and shook Nicole. Her eyes flickered slightly but she remained as still as a statue and as cold as stone.
“What have te done to her?” Ellie demanded furiously, forgetting about her own safety.
“Nothing” replied the woman, trying to sound innocent
Ellie didn’t believe her. She turned to face Nicole but caught a glimpse of the woman’s hand hovering above her in the dim light. Ellie ducked and pushed the woman hard. Since she wasn’t expecting it, the woman fell backwards and banged her head against the wall. Immediately, she was knocked unconscious.

Instantly, Nicole came out of her trance. She grabbed Ellie’s arm.
“Hurry up!” she detto “Or that woman will catch us.”
The girls ran as fast as they could until they were out in the open. The man had gone now, but the girls still felt uneasy. Looking around, Nicole and Ellie headed for the fairground gates. When they reached them they got a shock. They wouldn’t open but there were no chains o padlocks.
“How can we get home?” asked Ellie, pushing at the gates.
“I don’t know” replied Nicole “But I don’t think that man left, he was watching us, and somehow locked the gates before we got here.”

After what seemed like an eternity, the gate swung open, after a lot of pushing and ramming themselves at them - but the ghostly man and woman were heading their way. “Hurry up!” urged Nicole, running up the road.
Ellie followed her but suddenly tripped and twisted her ankle. The man and woman were gaining on them. As Ellie got to her feet, a bony hand grabbed her wrist. It was the woman! The man caught up with her and opened his cloak. He took it off and dropped over Ellie’s head, making Ellie feel dizzy and disoriented.
“Help” she shrieked from inside the mantello but the man and woman were dragging her back to The Haunted Mine.
Nicole ran away as fast as she could, feeling guilty that Ellie had saved her and she couldn’t return the favour. But how could she risk her own life?

The successivo morning, Nicole returned to the fairground with her and Ellie’s parents.
When they reached the fairground gates there were lots of chains and padlocks and a big sign saying CLOSED. They looked inside but there was nothing there, only a big, empty field.

In the years to follow, there was absolutely no trace of Ellie o the mysterious couple. The police had no leads in their cerca and eventually had to give up.

Even now that she was a grown woman with two children of her own and a loving husband, Nicole cannot forgive herself for not saving her best friend that night. In her waking hours and in her nightmares, she remembers Ellie screaming for help and her running for help. She was her friend’s last hope and she ran away like a coward. She will never forgive herself and she will never, ever forget. The memory haunts her and follows her like a shadow. She will never be free of the guilt. One way o another, she’s responsible for her friend’s death o at best disappearance.

So, what did te think? I wrote this when I was 11, two years ago, for a school Scrivere club. I though I'd post it and see how te all think it is. Please leave a small commento with constructive criticism.
During state testing week, I had only one giorno where I saw all of my students. I had my students write a story and several of them detto they didn’t know what to write. This student found a solution to her problem. I keep telling students if they can't think of anything then they just need to write whatever pops into their heads The following is printed with Chey’s permission. She did write a proper story after this.

I can’t find anything to write sitting in my mom’s car, where my bag was. I’m trying to figure out something to write and maybe after my little sister and older sister...

I walk into
The Fields of Sorrow
Once again.
Why do I walk there
Almost everyday?

I stroll along the grasses
Thinking
Bearing a horrible pain.
I think of the world around me
And how much they have inspired me.

I start to cry once again.
All my teachers
All my friends,
They have always stood da me,
When things went wrong.

I want a chance to repay them,
To mostra them that...
Their work was useful.
To mostra them that
I am truly thankful.

Why do I have to leave them then
Now?
No, now's not a good time.
But I know it was not intended
That I leave them now.

I want to mostra all those people
That they have been
The change of my life,
That they have made my life so much
Better,
That they were the flames
In the darkness.

Hey, te know what? I Amore cake, just like any other ordinary kid in the universe. Well, that is, up until one particular day, when this strange incident occurred. I was sleeping in, like usual. Guess what. I was late today. But when I woke up, I saw a mollusco, vongola closing its mouth on my eyelids, forcing me to fall back asleep. I couldn't believe my eyes. I must be hallucinating. It was a strange-looking clam, all right. It had two googly eyes, a short tail, a large and sausage-like mouth, and a tiny little nose. Now, out of all the crazy things te could think of, I'll bet te anything that te never...

I never thought it would be that easy,
Cause we are both so distant now.
And the walls are closing in on us,
And we are wondering how.

No one has a solid answer,
But just walking in the dark,
te can see the look on my face,
It just tears me apart.

When I first met you,
I thought,
How would I get to know this girl well?

Now,
I think,
Why do I have to leave this girl already?

But te and I,
Both of us are walking alone,
In the dark.
Even though te are not with me,
I can feel te with me in my heart.

It just breaks me to think
That te are not with me.
But now,
As I have pondered this situation
For a while now,
I have made a decision.

I am alone.
I am not alone, however, in my heart.
te are with me,
Walking in the dark,
Together.

Some of te may go through life,
Thinking something,
That is,
Who the hero is in your life.

I am one of those people.
But what I found is that
Even though many people are major influences
On my success in life

Such as my closest friends,
My teachers,
My parents,
Those serving for our country,
Others around me,
o even my worst enemies.

This anno I have found that
The hero that I have
Is no one else
But me.

My hero is myself.
I inspire myself to do everything I do.
I am the light of my life.

Chapter 1: Blood
Monday sprinted down the dark streets of London, quietly and unnoticed, armed with nothing but the freshly sharpened dagger on her back. Blood lust filled her eyes as she came closer and closer to her target. “Her head will be mine.” She whispered under her breath. She glanced to the side and saw the building she was headed for. Invisible to human’s eyes, the Pure House headquarters was placed right in the center of London. The mission Monday had been dato today was quite simple, kill the head of the Pure House. The leader of the Ultimate House had personally been training...

Why,
Is everyone being so cruel
Everyone is abusing each other
It seems like there is no good at all
In this world.

Why is everyone
Leaving me out of everything
Like I am this puppet with no string
I feel out of place,
And I am sure other people feel the same

I have searched for all these years
Someone special
Who would lead me through
The darkness
And all of my troubles would fade away.

Someone that would be named,
"My Hero."
I found who she was this year
And it was extremely unexpected,
Because...
No one else is my hero.
My hero is myself.

I stand in the middle of the wilderness, trembling with fear and anxiety. I need food. più importantly, water. I am extremely dehydrated. I fear a storm coming. Anytime now, those dreadful hounds are going to come out to get me again. I have a large scar across my right arm, a large gash in my knee, and a cut on my forehead. There is almost no hope left. I must rely on the forces of God and nature to give me strength. Leaves for bandages, as a hunter once taught me. Survival skills are crucial in the wilderness, te see. This means life o death. ((This is a true story. It takes place Memorial day. Let's see if te can figure out the mystery before I do.))

Red Bank Battlefield, in National Park, is a very peaceful place to be. Especially when you're waiting for West Deptford's annual Memorial giorno parade to come marching up Hessian Avenue.

Hessian Avenue dead ends at the Whitall house, which faces away from the river. According to local legend, Anne Whitall, when the war came to Fort Mercer, refused toleave the house, even when part of the roof caved in. At that point, she took her spinning down to the cellar and kept going. After the...

Maybe that was a sign that everyone, everything, wanted me gone. So gone I shall become.

When I was 13, I heard the worst news ever.
My best friend had been kid-napped, and murdered.

I couldn't believe it.

As a matter of fact, I didn't.

I yelled and screamed. I kicked. I cried and tried to convince myself that it was all a lie.

I finally cracked and admitted it to myself when the news came on.

And they showed her dead body, lying there.

I missed her.

Two months later...

There was a knock on the door. I got off my letto and went to answer it.
It was the detective.

This was my final goodbye, my farewell.
We were all huddeled around each other as we took some final photos.
I knew the time had come when my driver pulled up in the black Mercedes.
They promised me they'd visit and facetime me 24/7.
That was a promise I hoped they kept.

I had the window rolled down the whole time as we drived away. I kept waving till they were out of sight, and thats when the tears really started to pour. I slumped against the back sede, sedile and tried...

Chapter 4: Side Of A Bullet

Nicole had just woken up, and was still half asleep. Her body was cramped up from her sleeping position. Her arms were thrown above her head and her head was turned to the  crook of her neck.  Nicole rolled her sore body toward her small metal dresser and flung her arms behind her messy head. Nicole made an attempt to roll herself off her bunk, but froze when she heard distant footsteps outside her door.
"Get up!"
Baird kicked in the door to her room, which caught Nicole off guard. She let out a small yelp and tumbled off her bed.
"Mornin', Sunshine!  Ready to...
