Sam groaned and rolled over. He didn’t find Holly. Sam slowly sat up, looking around for his girlfriend. This was strange, agrifoglio never got up before him. Sam rolled out of letto and tried to flatten his hair before pulling on a accappatoio, vestaglia and walking into the living room. He was about to start worrying when he heard something in the kitchen.

agrifoglio looked up from her coffee as Sam entered the room. She smiled and nodded before turning back to the television. The two were still extremely sore from the fight last night, but they had managed to suffer through.

“How’s my beautiful lady doing this morning?” Sam asked, pouring himself a cup of the amaro drink.

agrifoglio blushed and smiled. “Fine,”

Sam sat down and reached for his newspaper, but Holly’s hand caught his. “Sam, there’s something I want to talk to te about.”

“Me too.” Sam said, placing his hand over Holly’s. “I’ll be right back.”

agrifoglio sighed as Sam walked (or ran) out of the room. He came back a moment later in a T-shirt and some loose pajama pants.

“I could probably do this better, but—“

Sam removed his hands from behind his back. agrifoglio saw a small, decorated box and her brain turned to mush. Was he--?

“Holly?” he asked, getting on one knee and opening the box. “Will te marry me?”

When she ran, her cuore would beat faster and faster. Sweat poured down her body as she came to a stop, catching her breath. Her hands on her knees, back a bit hunched, her breathing labored. The concrete beneath her collected the drips that fell off of her and made a satisfying splatter, the strada, via now becoming somewhat of a work of art. Standing back up, arching her back slightly as a small stretch, she began her run back home, holding one hand over her heart.
