Harry Potter libri best THG trilogy in terms of content, character development, description, action, creativity, and even romance (though romance has never been a strong point of HP)
So I think I can safely say HP owns THG here.
On the other hand, the Film are harder to compare with only one THG film and 8 HP ones. So I'll compare first 3 HP's to the first HG.
