I was originally only going to post a few of these on the wall, but there were just too many gems not to share them all.

When things are translated form one language to another, suffice it to say that things can often be “lost in translation.” The following is a lista of 89 “Penguins of Madagascar” episodes which have had their German titles translated into English using Google’s webpage translator. The English name of each episode is placed in parentheses successivo to each translated title, as it appeared on a German Televisione website, though in a few places even those have a few errors in them.

Please read through the full list. Some changes are funnier than others. Which translated titolo did te find the funniest?

BirdG I always prefer the English titles - they are word plays or something: my favorite is "Assault and Batteries" since I made the discovery in the dictionary: "assault and battery" is a term for er.. bodily harm... and the battery - batteries... haha... yeah, I know... it's just interesting for me... But I found a mistake: 'Two feet high and rising' was called 'Füsse anfassen verboten' - so 'foot touching NOT allowed' - that's one of this very lame German titles! I mean - it's just what happenes in the episode... that Julien forbids Mort to touch his feet - how lame is that? The same, that "Wishful Thinking" was just called 'The desire well' - I mean: there's one on the cover - they don't have to write it! And beside that: Why are the new episodes already aired in Germany - but still not in English? Can somebody put them on youtube or at least vbox7 please???

SJF_Penguin2 One of my many favorites is "The Revenge of Dr. Strangelove" instead of "Dr. Blowhole's Revenge." That is completely hilarious because Dr. Strangelove was a character in a 1964 film of the same name, played by Peter Sellers. I have no idea how the title translation could have ever generated that.

The penguins had been together for awhile but nothing prepared them for this. It was a cool, brisk spring morning, when they were training.
"Alright boys, let's act cute and cuddly for our guests." Skipper suggested rubbing his flippers together.
It seemed to begin as a normal day, but in an instant it changed. Toppling over something, Private noticed there was a letter and picked it up.
"Skippah, I found something here." Private detto anxiously.
"Kowalski, what do think?" Skipper questioned.
"It looks like a letter." Kowalski murmured examining the paper. Skipper shot Kowalski a "of course" look....

As it got later Private's mind and thoughts changed with the sky of the outside and his sanity disappeared with the sun. On the outside he was serene and relaxed since Kowalski came to his rescue, but inside he wanted to end the suffering he kept putting himself through da the echoing scream of Max that was stuck in his head. Once Kowalski fell asleep he crept toward the sleeping Rico, o at least Private thought he was sleeping.
