Anybody got any techniques on how to not let grief consume your life?

This is a serious domanda (so no risposte like just forget it) my aunt is dying and I keep switching between either feeling numb inside o crying in my classes, I don't know what to do about it. (In case you're wondering, yes this is the aunt that I talked about making a card for a couple of weeks ago.)

When everything else was going to Hell, the only thing I took comfort in was music. With earbuds in, te can block out the rest of the world. For the past couple years I've constantly been listening to Musica - wake up listening to it, listen to it on the bus, in class, when doing homework, when shopping, when eating dinner, fall asleep listening to it. Every moment of every day. Music. It's like it keeps the order in my life, like the steady beat keeps me sane. I know I sound crazy, but it is what got me though. I don't know if it would work for you, but Musica was definitely what saved me.

Maybe some other creative outlet would work for you. For a while, I wrote everything down, spun novels from my feelings. (Doesn't work as well with fanfiction, from my experience. Create a character.)

Dunno. Sorry about your aunt. Shit happens. Wish te luck.

Honestly, te need God in your life. Therapy o counceling will help. Maybe even if te talk to family members. But te need God. He's the one that can take away your pain, and allow it to never come back o steal your joy. God is the answer, and the way.

te sound like my mom, but I suppose I probably could rely on prayer a little more.

I know what you're going through...my dad died last mese :( What I do when I'm feeling sad is keep busy. Read a book, work on a hobby, go somewhere with friends, o even clean the house...just do anything te think will keep te focused on the positive. Hope that helps :)

Well, te gotta find things that make te happy.

It doesn't have to be big things.

If drawing makes te happy, even just for a little bit, then draw!

If dancing makes te happy, then dance.

It doesn't have to be big things, but te gotta put all your focus of the little things that make te feel better.

I am so sorry about your aunt, da the way.

I hope things get better for te and your family.
