Trump is a libertarian in disguise. I agree with him on literally almost everything. Never will I ever vote for Hillary, I can't stand the woman.

Trump a libertarian?? Yeah coz banning people from entering the country based on religion, interventionist entanglement with foreign issues like Israel and the Middle East, building a massive wall and making another country pay for it, deporting 11 million people, keeping files on every Muslim in the country... sure sounds like "small government", "limiting surveillance" and "reining in executive power" to me.

His policies and his personality cult politics are the very opposite of libertarianism.

jlhfan624 picked Donald Trump:
You seem to have a one-track mindset. According to your profile, you're not even an American. So what do you care if we ban illegal immigrants and build a wall? You have no say and aren't affected by our country's policies in regards to immigration. It's a massive problem. Nobody cares about immigrants, but a country isn't a country without its borders and illegal immigrants will just make it more difficult for people who go about the right ways to become a citizen.

And yeah not caring which bathroom trans people use, caring about the middle class, supporting gay marriage/rights, and supporting a no fly-no buy ban just SCREAMS hardcore conservative Republican right? Such an evil man, being nationalistic and all.

ThePrincesTale picked Hillary Clinton:
Non-Americans aren't allowed discuss American politics? Part of the burden of being an global superpower is that your politics affect other countries too. So yeah American policies, including foreign policies like immigration and international relations, have a wider sphere of influence than your own backyard.

You're shifting the goalposts- I didn't actually comment on immigration other than to say Trump's policies are very definitely not libertarian. Pretty much indisputable. In fact, they are quite authoritarian.

I agree, he's not a traditional Republican. He's a right-wing populist. All the worse- at least traditional Republicans were pragmatists, had logical policies (even though I disagree with them), had realistic positions. Right-wing populism is reactionary, often uses emotional rhetoric instead of sound policy, values blind national pride over economic/political sense, suffers from rampant anti-intellectualism in disregarding advice from experts + taking anti-science stances (eg. climate change denial, and Trump in particular is also anti-vaccination), and has the potential for major damage in terms of international relations and global politics generally.

And yes highly nationalistic politicians are quite damaging. We saw that in Brexit today- fluffy and idealistic drivel about "British sovereignty" and "reclaiming our country" has won over economic, political and social sense and the advice of all experts. Combined with economic recession, nationalism has been a major factor in many conflicts. Thinking one's country is superior and 'special' has always been a key stepping stone for wars, as has been proven time and time again.

I supported Ted Cruz in the primary. I don't consider Donald Trump to be a real conservative, but against Hillary Clinton, I will vote for the "Republican" Trump.

If Trump is elected but acts like a liberal in office, I will hope for and support a conservative primary opponent in 2020.

ThePrincesTale picked Hillary Clinton:
The problem is he's not going to act like either a Republican or a liberal in office.

Both Republicans and liberals recognise the economic/societal benefits of globalisation, free trade, cooperation between countries. Trump wants to start a protectionist little trade war that will end badly for everyone and goes against the opinion of every economist. He is a populist who cares little about expert opinions and more for emotion-driven fallacies (it's called anti-intellectualism).

If Republicans cared about the economy, as it supposedly their primary concern, they'd vote for Hillary or a 3rd party. The markets (and resultantly, your standard of living) will be impacted dramatically by Trump-led America.

^Hillary is far less of an idiot and has 50x the qualifications to run a country.

This election makes me want to die. It's fucked up.
Hilary Clinton is LITERALLY A CRIMINAL. People who say she's better than Trump are wanting a LITERAL CRIMINAL in office.
It's clear that neither candidate has the future of the nation in mind and they're not even pretending to. They're both in it for personal gain and nothing more.

Trump also clearly doesn't take his campaign that seriously. One of the most hated governors of the United States is now his vice president (even a lot of people in the state he governs don't like him....) and not too long ago Trump said he may not even accept the presidential office if he's elected. (I could dig up the article I found if anyone wants.)

Now if I could put on a tin foil hat here for a second, I think Trump and Clinton are in on it together. Trump and the Clintons have been friends for a while, to my understanding. The fact that the only other candidate aside from Clinton and Trump that got much publicity was Bernie Sanders (who probably wouldn't have gotten much publicity if the social media savvy millennials hadn't liked him so well, and I don't mean that as a bad thing.) is suspicious to me.

Anyway, taking my tin foil hat off now....

I'm voting third party. Not to mention Gary Johnson is cool anyway, and Libertarian ideals align mostly with my own. Far better than Republican or Democratic ones do, and we seriously need more than two major political parties in the United States right now. Only having two major political parties is part of what got us into this mess to begin with.

Is there a "neither" option? Trump is racist, misogynistic, and homophobic; Hillary is a criminal and is the one that's more likely to cause World War III.
