Humphrey carried Kate to the front at about 5:00 a.m. to start driving. He got on the freeway and headed Northbound to Canada. Kate woke up about an ora and 30 minuti after Humphrey set off.
“Woah, we’re heading back already?”
“Yup, we better get home in the daylight so the pack can see the truck.”
“You’re right, good point.”
There was a truck that cut Humphrey off, sending him off the road.
“Yay! più fun!” Humphrey said.
Humphrey got back on the road and came up successivo to the truck. Humphrey looked at the driver. Pure shock went into his body. It was Garn!
“Ahh, crap!”
Kate jumped up in alert.
“What?”
“We got company.”
“Who’d be hunting down two Lupi in…”
Humphrey turned Kate’s head to the truck.
“Humphrey, speed off! We have to escape!”
“No, I want to have some fun.”
Kate climbed on superiore, in alto of Humphrey.
“Not this, I mean messing around with Garn.”
“Humphrey, no!”
Kate gripped Humphrey tightly.
“Kate can te at least get off me? I can’t focus when I feel funky.”
“I’m scared though!”
Humphrey pushed Kate onto the middle sede, sedile where she gripped tighter.
“That’s better,” Humphrey said, “Now I can focus.”
Garn was about to ram Humphrey, when Humphrey slammed on the brakes. Luckily there was no one on the freeway at this time. Humphrey drove on the shoulder, which Garn didn’t expect. Humphrey got right in front of Garn literally probably inches from bumper to bumper.
Humphrey used the Nitrous causing the engine in the semi-truck to clog. Humphrey happily got away and walked free.
“Kate, we’re sicuro, cassetta di sicurezza now.”
“Well, look who’s the professional driver,” Kate flirted.
“Oh, Kate, stop that.”
“I want something a girl would be lucky to have with you.”
“A Cambodian kid?”
Kate laughed hard at that, “No, We’ve done that plenty of times, and I never get tired of it.”
“Having a Cambodian kid? We’ve done that plenty of times?”
Kate couldn’t stop laughing at Humphrey’s jokes, “No, smarty, I’m talking about the sign of love.”
“Oh, haha! Man, I’m dumb.”

“Oh Kate, you’re hot.”

There was a cop coming Humphrey’s way.
“Ahh crap!”
“Garn again?”

Humphrey pulled over.
“Good morning officer.”
“Do te know how fast te were going?”
“Umm, 75?”
“Yes, but that’s not the problem. The problem is that this man has a complaint from you.”
“Why?”
“What do te mean why? Sir, come over here.”
Garn came into sight.
“Crap, crap, crap!”
“You ha rubato, stola my truck, and broke down my friends’ truck!”
“Do te have anything to say for yourself?” the officer asked.
“Yes, this!”
Humphrey sped off along with a nitrous boost. He thought it was victory but he forgot about the fact that the cops had Reinforcements.
“Don’t worry, Garn, there’s many cops that will chase him down.”
“What about at the Canadian border line?”
“We’ll catch him da then.”
“And if te don’t?”
“We’ll have the Canadian police on standby.”
“Thanks.”
There were at least 10 police cars behind Humphrey.
“Humphrey, I don’t want to loose you!”
“Don’t worry, Kate. When we get to the Canadian borderline 40 miles up, we’ll be safe.”
Poor Humphrey didn’t know the Canadians will be after him too. Lucky for Kate, she wouldn’t do any time but Humphrey would be put away for life.
A spike strip was laid down about a half mile ahead. Humphrey came upon it but not far enough to be mercy o so he thought.
“Kate, it’s over for me, that spike strip will deplete our tires and force us to stop. I’m sorry.”
Kate started bawling. Her husband was going to be locked up for life.
“Why did it have to end like this!” Kate yelled.
Humphrey felt tears run down his own cheeks. However, he realized there was a chance. He pulled back the emergency brake and turned 145 degrees, only having one tire pop. All the police cars passed him, having their tires pop.
“Haha! Take that!”
Humphrey drove on the shoulder to avoid the spike strip.
“Kate, we’ve escaped! I only got a single tire popped. I walk free!”
Kate stopped bawling and hugged Humphrey.
“Oh Humphrey! Don’t worry me like that again! I promise you, extra hard tonight.”
Humphrey new that would be a lot of fun. He was glad to be free… until he saw the Canadian cops.
“Kate, I’m not free yet. Canadian cops ahead!”
“Why am I not surprised?”
They formed a road block all the way across the freeway.
“You have no choice wolf!” the cops said.
“Don’t I?” Humphrey yelled.
Humphrey started to back up until American cops formed another road block. Kate put her head on Humphrey’s chest.
“Agh! Humphrey! Please don’t go!”
“Kate, I have no other choice I’m officially blocked.
They were on a bridge too, so if Humphrey drove off, he’d land in the water.
Kate hugged Humphrey and cried as the cops approached. It was over this time. Or, AGAIN, there was a plan. Humphrey saw a ramp along with land no più than 100 feet passed that. Humphrey backed up and tapped a police car on the American road block.
“Kate, there’s mercy!”
“What are te talking about?”
Humphrey yelled to the cops, “Way to cover the ramp a-holes!”
He had to sacrifice the rest of the nitrous to make the jump. He took off at full speed using all the nitrous left in the canisters. He jumped but about at 50 clear of the jump, he started to descend. Not only that, but the nitrous was depleted.
“Kate, if te die in my hands, would te forgive me?”
“Oh Humphrey, of course I would.”
“Thanks Kate, because we’re about to die!”
The water was in sight, but Humphrey let of the gas. That, ironically, made them land safely on the nice ground. They had a soft landing and were ok.
“Kate, we made it!”
“Yes! Thank you, God!”
“Yes, thank you, God.”
Humphrey drove into Jasper with the truck in sight of all the wolves. The Lupi howled at the sight that Humphrey successfully ha rubato, stola a human truck.
“Good job, Humphrey!” Winston said, “Come out and give your father-in-law a hug!”
Humphrey got out and hugged Winston. For once, Eve joined in with hugging Humphrey. Kate came in too.
“We were nearly captured da humans!” Kate said.
“They would’ve locked us up for life!” Humphrey said.
Eve let go of Humphrey, tackled him, and strangled him.
“No! Mom! He would’ve gotten locked up, not me!”
Eve let go.
“What a relief!”
Mooch, Shakey, and Salty came over to Humphrey.
“Welcome back Humphrey!” Salty greeted.
“Good job retrieving that thing!” Shakey yelled.
They pulled Humphrey up and carried him around.
“Thanks guys! I’ll teach te how to drive it sometime.”
The whole pack was happy over one human vehicle. But it was a good one.
