Claudette: Wow!
Kate: A queen's time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. One day, Claudette, the sun will set on my time here and will rise with te as the new queen.
Claudette: And this'll all be mine?
Kate: Everything.
Claudette: Everything the light touches... What about that shadowy cave?
Kate: That's beyond our borders. te must never go there, Claudette.
Claudette: But I thought a Queen can do whatever she wants.
Kate: Oh, there's più to being Queen than...getting your way all the time. (Starts to go down the rock.)
Claudette: (Awed) There's more?
Kate: (Chuckles.) Claudette.

Kate: Everything te see exists together in a delicate balance. As queen, te need to understand that balance and respect all the creatures from the crawling ant to the galloping caribou.
Claudette: But, mom, don't we eat the caribou?
Kate: Yes, Claudette, but let me explain. When we die, our bodies become the grass. And the caribou eat the grass. And so we are all connected in the great cerchio of Life.
