Gwen Thomas, seventeen anno old junior at Camelot High gathered up her courage and started down the hallway to ask her longtime friend, Arthur Pendragon, eighteen anno old senior to the Sadie Hawkins Dance. (In the United States, the Sadie Hawkins Dance is usually a less formal dance sponsored da a high school, middle school o college, in which female students invite male students.)was tonight and she had waited too long already. She had her dress, shoes, and all the accessories, but no date. As she thought back to Morgana (Arthur's sister) words this morning in first period; “He still has no data hurry up and ask him.”
Gwen was just about to turn the corner when she heard Arthur's rich deep voice. "Sorry, I already had a data to the dance. Thanks for asking." Vivian voice was tense when she replied, "Who Gwen Thomas?" Arthur detto "you will see at the dance" turned and walked the other way. Gwen cuore broke just a little, she had waited too long. Arthur had a date. She turned and walked back the other way she came. I guess, I'll ask someone else. Arthur never saw her.

Arthur was heading out of the locker room, when he heard Gwaine voice. "Gwen,
why don't te ask me to the dance tonight? I'll say. Yes" He couldn't believe Gwaine would ask her out, but what was Gwen going to say. Gwen's laugh was pure heaven to Arthur's ears and her answer was a shock. "Sorry, Gwaine I already asked someone and they detto yes." "Gwaine smirked."Pendragon." "You will see at the dance." Gwen replied and walked away. Arthur thought to himself, she asked someone else? "Merlin!!" he turned around and went back into the lockroom. Gwen never saw him and the disappointment in his eyes.

"This morning, Morgana said, she was going to ask you." Merlin detto confused himself. "She was sure of it." Morgana and Merlin were dating, so she had already asked him. They both them wanted Arthur and Gwen to go together. It would be perfect; the four of them were so close even if the latter was not dating yet. Merlin and Morgana had plans to become the four musketeers.

As Gwen and Morgana is heading to class, they see Arthur and Nimueh standing
real close at Nimueh's locker. He taking her libri for her and then they walk
towards class. Arthur and Nimueh are in a deep and intimate conversation. "The two do make a beautiful couple." she says to Morgana. "Nimueh asked and Arthur detto yes." Gwen sounded so hurt and she turned and walked away. Arthur never saw her downcast face.

Arthur and Merlin walks into the cafeteria, they see Cenred and Gwen in a very friendly and intimate conversation. They are smiling and laughing with the chairs close together. Arthur decides he will eat later, turns and leaves." I bet that’s who she asked and he detto yes." Arthur says as he leaves. Merlin gets in line and grab a couple of sandwich, panino for himself and Arthur and heads out to find his friend. Gwen never saw Arthur o the look of pain on his face.

"Merlin, what do we do?" Morgana asked sadly. "Nothing, Arthur made me promise to leave it alone." Yeah, Gwen did the same to me." Morgana said. "Gwen detto that I was not to mention anything to Arthur and I couldn't tell te to interfere. If we did anything, she detto she would no longer be my best friend." "Arthur told me he would make my life a living hell." Merlin sighed. "Morgana, do te believe they are destined to be together?" asks Merlin. Morgana nods, yes. "Me too, we must hope that fate will bring them together without our help."

Arthur grumbles to himself. He is returning a book to the biblioteca for Merlin.
Arthur casually walks through the doors, walks over to the counter, drops the book in the return slot and turns to leave. He doesn't see Gwen behind the first row of book selves. Sophia walks into the library. "Hi Arthur, would te like to go to the dance with me?" she asked. "Sorry, I already had a data to the dance. Thanks for asking." he answered. "Gwen?" Sophia questioned. Arthur detto "You will see at the dance" He never saw Gwen and the one tear roll down her cheek.

The sign on the slightly open door read Gaius, Senior School Counselor. There
Arthur sat waiting for his counselor to return with some più college forms for him to complete and mail in. He heard the voice of an angel. "Lance that is so sweet, but I already asked someone else and he detto yes." Gwen detto with a laugh. "Pendragon" Lance detto as a statement not a question. Again Gwen laughed her reply. "You will see at the dance." As the two students walked down the hall passed the counselor office. She never saw Arthur o felt the ache in his heart.

"Thanks for the ride home, Cenred." Gwen detto as they exit the main hall and headed towards the student parking lot. As the two students entered the parking lot at the North end, Gwen saw Arthur helping Nimueh into her car. He then proceeded to walk to the driver's and get in behind the wheel. She sighed slightly. "What's wrong?" Cenred asked. "Oh, nothing," she detto and smiled at him. They headed to his car.
As Arthur driving Nimeuh's car is backing up. He glances over his shoulder and he saw Gwen and Cenred walking together towards Cenred car. Arthur frown and Nimeuh asked if he was ok. He smiles and says everything is fine. Then the car pulls out of the parking lot and head down the street.

The sign on the door read Albion Cafe. The young man walked in and sat at the last booth. Catina knew this young man as she did must of the students from Camelot High. However tonight was the big dance and most of the students were there. His normally bright eyes looked sad tonight. "What will it be?" Catina asked. "Western bacon, pancetta affumicata Cheese Burger, large fries, and Cioccolato milkshake" he replied. "Coming right up." Catina replied.
Catina walked to the back counter and called Alice over to take the order. After giving Alice the order, Catina nodded to the young man at the booth. Alice smiled and glanced back inside the kitchen. "I'll make it a double order." Alice said.

"Sweetie, be a doll and take this order to tavolo twelve for te dear aunt,"
Alice detto to the young lady in the back office. "Sure." replied the young lady as she laid down the book she was reading. Grabbing the order, she walked the door from the cucina heading to tavolo twelve. If she had been paying any kind of attention to the young man at tavolo twelve; she might have notice he looked familiar even with his back to her. As it was she was loss in her own world she did not recognize him.
As she sat the plates down on the table; she looked at the young man. "Is there anything ....." "Arthur?" Gwen detto surprise. "Guinevere?" Arthur detto shocked to see her waiting tables. "Where is Cenred? Why are te waiting tables? Why aren't te at the dance?" he detto all in one breath. Gwen was confused. Cenred she thought. Why he is asking me about Cenred. Waiting tables, what. Gwen answered he last question. "I am not at the dance, because I don't have a date." Arthur can't believe what he just heard. No date. For a moment he doesn't say anything.
Gwen had notice the two plates, so she turn to walk away. Nimueh must be in the bathroom she thought. As she turns to go Arthur jumps up and grabs her wrist stopping her. At that simple touch; both of thier stomachs did a flip, their cuore beat increased as if they were running and for a brief moment neither detto a word. Gwen recovered first. "Arthur, Nimeuh." she said; as she tried to pull away. "Nimueh?" he detto not releasing his hold on her. "Is she in the bathroom?" Gwen questioned. "What?" Arthur detto confused. "Your date, is she in the bathroom? Gwen says; still trying to remove her wrist from Arthur firm grip.
più confused; "I don't have a data with Nimueh." Arthur stated. "Who told te I did?” ”Um...," Gwen paused and thought to herself. No one, not Arthur, not Morgana, not Merlin nor Nimueh herself not that she would have asked her. While Arthur stood there waiting for her answer, Gwen realized no one told her. "No one." she finally said. "Then who are te going to the dance with? Who's your date?" "I am not going to the dance; I don't have a date." Arthur replied.

Catrina and Alice had been watching the couple since Gwen walked over to Arthur's table. "Catrina, te better help them out." Alice detto from the cucina window. The couple did not even see her walk up. "I think te two needs to talk. Gwen, this plate is for you. When Arthur placed his order; we made two. Don't worry about the bill, just eat and talk." Catrina said, then turned and walked away.

Now sitting at the tavolo together; the two close friends, who once could talk about any and everything are suddenly silent and awkward with each other. And for some time they sit staring at their Cibo not knowing what to say to the other.
"Why did you...” they both detto as one. Then they both fell silent again.
Finally, Arthur asked "Why did te think I was going to the dance with Nimueh?" "Well,” Gwen started. "I overheard te say te had a data to the dance." "And te and Nimeuh seemed to be together a lot today. I just sort of thought..." She didn't have to finish Arthur knew what she thought. "Guinevere, Nimeuh hurt her hand earlier today; I was just helping her out." Gwen blushed, she just assumed. Then she said, but I heard te say a few times to different girls te had a date." Arthur looked a little ashamed, "I lied." "I wanted to go with te and ...." At this Gwen laughed out loud and said...."and so te pretended to already have a data so as to not hurt their feelings. I lied too." Now it was Arthur's turn to laugh.
"Hey, why were te and Cenred hanging out so much today?" Arthur asked smiling. "You mean with my brother's Elyan best friend. We are planning a birthday party for him." Gwen says still laughing. They looked at each other and just starting laughing uncontrollable. People were staring now at the two, but they did not care.

Catrina turned to Alice. "Get the dress out the car. Those two are going to the dance." "Way ahead of you," she detto heading out the back door. Shaking her head and Gwen was going to return everything tomorrow. Look at fate. Alice was happy for her niece.

Gwen and Arthur have quiet down now. They relaxed and fell back into their close friendship pattern. They started eating and explaining what happen over the course of the day. When they are done eating, Arthur reaches across the tavolo and takes Gwen hand in his. They look in each other eyes for a minute. "Guinevere, will te go to the Prom, homecoming dance, winter formal, spring formal, etc. etc. with me?" he says with a smile that warmed her heart. "Yes, yes, yes, yes ...” she says with a smile and a chuckle.
Gwen looks pass Arthur and sees her aunt holding her dress. "Arthur, If it's not too late will te be my data to the Sadie Hawkin's Dance?" "It would be my honor, my lady." he risposte and then he kisses her hand.

Camelot High Gym - dance - Merlin and Morgana are dancing; when Merlin points towards the door and says to Morgana "see fate." As Arthur escorts Gwen into the gym, no one is surprised to see the two together at the dance. The teen couple joined their Friends on the dance floor. Gwen and Morgana hugging and giggling as girls do. Merlin smirks at Arthur. "Shut up, Merlin." Arthur responds. The dance is great everyone has a good time. It is the last dance of the evening. The DJ plays Donna Summer's "Last Dance" As Gwen and Arthur slow dance together; he leans in and kisses her for the first time.
In that moment they knew what everyone else had already seen. "Will te marry me in five years?” Arthur asked. "Yes." she replied breathlessly. And he kissed her again.
