It wasn't the fact that she was ignoring me that had me bothered, but it was the fact that she was crying right before my very eyes.

"Pocahontas?" I approached my friend cautiously; I swallowed a dry lump in my throat. There hadn't been a time for me to speak to her like this, not since Pocahontas broke the news to me about her arranged marriage with Kokoum.

"What's the problem?" I asked her sheepishly, mustering all the courage that I could to avoid sounding pathetic to her at that very moment.

"Brother Bear, please." Pocahontas stifled a sob.

Naturally, I took my place beside her.

"Trust me, Pocahontas, te can tell me anything."

"Kenai," Pocahontas spoke aloud.

"What is it?" I eagerly awaited her response.

"I spoke to Chief Powhatan about my arranged marriage to Kokoum," She began.

"And? What did he say?"

"I told him that I couldn't do it. I couldn't marry Kokoum because I Amore you." She paused shortly thereafter.

My mind drew a blank.

What was just detto to me? Had she not seen the animal that I was on the inside?

"Pocahontas, I," I fumbled for words.

"I cannot help it, Brother Bear. I've tried."

My best friend was proclaiming her Amore to me, and here I was, dumbstruck beyond belief. If there was a time to reciprocate the feeling, it would be now.

"Pocahontas, let me explain,"

"I did something terrible."

"Like what?"

"I killed him. I killed Kokoum."

"What? te did what? Why?"

"I had no other choice, Brother Bear." She retorted.

"That doesn't make it right, Pocahontas."

"Why can't we be together, Kenai?"

"Pocahontas, I've always loved te from the very beginning. Since the giorno we first met, I've always felt this undeniable attraction to te that I couldn't ignore. It stayed inside me for the longest time and I'm sorry to say that it hurts."

"Tenana can help us, Brother Bear." It dawned upon Pocahontas.

"The Shaman Lady?"

"Yes. Grandmother Willow as well,"
