I've just finished watching Season 1 and I got one domanda about Chuck.

I thought Chuck finally tried to pursue his Amore for Blair but why in the end he decided not to go with Blair but to flirt around like how he used to be?
Is it something to do with what his dad told him, like 'Loving someone will change you'?
o is it because he actually didn't Amore Blair in the first place?
Would appreciate if te can tell me but please don't put any spoiler cuz I haven't started Season 2.
