Did anybody notice...?

Okay so we all know from some of the episodes in the latest season of Gossip Girl that Chuck Lost his mother at childbirth and only recently has she come back into the picture. (In the books, Chuck never Lost his mom.) Did anyone notice that in the very first episode of Gossip Girl, Chuck makes two references to having a mother: one when he asks Nate if he should swipe some of his mom's paxil and the secondo time when he's at the bar with Serena and he says that he's "going to have to tell his parents (plural) that the hotel they had just bought was serving minors". I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this. I guess it's probably because the pilot episode of GG followed the first book since it was the first episode and then spun off from there.
But just wondering if anyone else noticed Chuck referring to his mother in that episode... :)
