De tweevoudige Grammywinnaar Bruno Mars kan opnieuw opgelucht ademhalen. De zanger heeft woensdag voor een rechter toegegeven dat hij zich schuldig heeft gemaakt aan cocaïnebezit. De 25-jarige artiest ontloopt door zijn schuldbekentenis een celstraf.

Mars, die gigantische hits had met "Just the Way te Are" en "Grenade", heeft wel een geldboete furgone, van 2.000 dollar en een taakstraf furgone, van tweehonderd uur gekregen. Hij mag het komende jaar ook niet in de fout gaan, want anders vliegt hij alsnog achter de tralies.
De zanger werd in september gearresteerd met 2,6 gram cocaïne op zak. Hij werd betrapt in de toiletten furgone, van het Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas nadat hij had opgetreden in een plaatselijke discotheek. (Belga / LEE)
