Heroes Article: Too slow? Not a chance.

So, I've been seeing a few commenti here and there on the web about Heroes and how it's moving too slowly, o some episodes are boring. I remember hearing the same about Lost when it came out.

True, when I was a kid, I wanted instant satisfaction. When I watched the 80s remake of King Kong, I kept looking over to my dad and asking him "When are we going to see King Kong, dad??" I wanted him to appear immediately. But, as I said, I was a kid.

But I'm not a kid any longer. And neither are the people griping about the slow pace of Heroes.

I understand that we live in a fast-paced world. People are becoming conditioned to get what they want, when they want it. Fast Food, TV On-Demand, Online banking, it's all too easy.

But should quality Televisione programs follow this pattern? Not a chance.

Would Lost be as good if we had all the risposte da now?

Lost and Heroes share a common element. In each show, there are things unknown to us. Things we have to figure out over time. Most of the time, we know only as much as the people on the show. We learn as they learn. In my opinion, this makes for a better story.

Heroes is taking its time for a very good reason. The people in the mostra are recitazione like ordinary people discovering that they are able to do extraordinary things. This is hard to deal with. Can te imagine waking up and being able to fly? Would te immediately seek out a super-team to join? I don't think so. You'd practice your power. You'd worry that te were going crazy. You'd want to tell people, but would be afraid to.

In my opinion, Heroes is moving ahead at the exact speed it should. I don't want the risposte presented to me. I don't want the Heroes to meet up and create the "Justice Force" o "The League of TV superheroes." I want to see the mystery unravel. I want to come up with theories with my friends. I want to be surprised. I want suspense.

So far, Heroes has delivered on every point. Whether this is a good o bad thing is up to you.

As long as te agree with me.

Seeing everyone unisciti together da episode two would have been a cop-out.

papa I was wondering about the complaints too for the first 5 episodes. I've had no problem with the pacing or the rate at which things are happening. I think the slow discovery of the emerging powers has been great. In fact, I kind of wish some of the characters, like Hiro, weren't able to control their powers so well at this point. That being said, I was disappointed by chapter 6. I felt it was too predictable (with the bogus adopted parents) and while I had no problem with the "speed", I felt like this episode didn't advance things well enough (as compared to the prior episodes). Still, I love this show and am eager see what happens in the coming weeks.

thecon Its good to see someone not saying "its too slow, they dont tell us enough" etc. Especially with Lost.... those people are losers. TV is changing and shows like heroes are the way forward... the slow drip process ensures that.

cameroo I don't think that heroes is paticuraly slow paced i think its quite good, much better than lost, that's becoz we get answers, since lost started i dont think we've had any answers, apart from a couple bout the others, otherwise all we get is questions and no answers, the writers seem to hav no idea where they r goin wiv it, most of the people i know who watched it hav given up becoz of it and the ones who havnt dont watch it becoz its interesting anymore, just becoz they want answers that never seem to arrive, only more questions
