Despite completely selling out every show, the North American leg of the tour was reportedly making substantial losses of $4 million. This was due to the complex stages and array of costume changes during the show. Gaga spent $500,000 on one stage alone, with an appearance on the British talent mostra The X Factor - which featured Gaga performing Bad Romance in a giant bathtub, costing £52,000.
