Faster than the speed of sound and light, Racerwind pelted away from the start line only to finish three milliseconds later. She turned, beaming from ear to ear, to see her competitors just leaving the start. A long, black and white striped path had followed Racerwind's wings to the Finish. All of a sudden, the little victor heard squeals of delight from the spectator stands. Her parents, Softcloud and Lightning Bolt, were jumping around, waving their hooves in the air. The crowd was gobsmacked, staring blankly at the filly before them. Racerwind's delight grew when she felt a small tingle on her rear. Her cutie mark, two checkered flags, had finally appeared. The young pony whinnied in glee, dancing in the sky and racing from nube, nuvola to cloud.
Below her... A blue filly with a arcobaleno mane stared up at the sky in awe. Never before had she been beaten da another filly. arcobaleno Dash wasn't jealous, oh no, she was filled with joy for the black and white filly. It was at that moment where a few secondi later, both fillies performed a sposta that made history. That sent legends running rife through Equestria. It was that moment when arcobaleno Dash performed the Sonic Rainboom and when Racerwind risked her life in the Deathdrop.

***************** 10 YEARS LATER ****************

Canterlot Clouds, Champion Mansion-

Racerwind Champion groaned. Why wasn't it working? Trying to pull off the Deathdrop was harder than ever before. She'd already landed herself in Horsepital umpteen times. Broken wings, broken leg, broken nose, chipped hoof. All sorts. Right now she was supposed to be in rehab. Much to her father's dismay.
"Racerwind, please," he called to the stubborn daughter. "Come inside and rest. Your wing will never heal at this rate!"
"Daddy stop whining! I'm perfectly ok. Just have cena without me, I'll get it later!" She yelled back. Lightning Bolt sighed in annoyance. He knew how much the Equestria Sports-Pony Championships meant to her. She'd been training since she was a filly. She just didn't see how much her health and safety meant to her parents.
Giving up, Lightning Bolt went to go inside. Just as he turned he heard a loud bang and a cry of pain. Spinning around again, he saw his beloved daughter lying on the same nube, nuvola as himself, crying and covered in... Blood!
"Racerwind!" He exclaimed, speeding to Racerwind's side. A bloody dagger lay da her flank. Malicious laughter pierced the air and Queen Chrysalis materialised in front of the duo from the dagger.
"Chrysalis!"
"Yes, that is my name, but I prefer to be called Queen Chrysalis. Especially from the mouth of a worthless peasant pony," she unleashed another dastardly rain of evil laughter. Racerwind cried out in pain. Chrysalis stopped and glared at her.
"Oh, yes, about your daughter... Well... te better get her to the horsepital round about now before she dies of blood loss. Didn't want her taking my titolo of Champion Sports-Pony, did I?" Chrysalis laughed again.
"You? A champion? In sports? Sorry but I don't see it possible," Lightning Bolt sneered. The changeling Queen smiled cruelly at him.
"In case te have forgotten, I am Queen of the Changelings. IE- able to take your daughter's form and cheat to win!"
Racerwind sighed wearily, her dad covering her body protectively. Just at that moment, Racerwind's alicorn sister, Spirit, came out of the mansion to call on the pair for dinner. On seeing the scene, Spirit teleported to her dying sister's side and began to perform a healing spell.
Chrysalis gasped in shock. "An alicorn? Wh-how? I've never seen nor heard of this... This... Pony! Who are you? Why are te interfereing with my plans?" She snapped. Spirit glanced up, not paying much attention the the spell the evil Queen was about to perform. Chrysalis' horn glowed, a dark shadowy storm whipped up around them. Thunder clashed....
