"TRAPPED da A TITLE"

I feel sorry for Emma Swan. I may not like her very much at the moment. But I do feel sorry for her. più importantly, she has become, since Season Two, one of the most frustrating characters on "ONCE UPON A TIME". Which is probably why I have just written my third o fourth articolo about her.

From the moment her son Henry Mills found her in the series' premiere episode, (1.01) "Pilot" and revealed that she was destined to break a curse cast da his adopted mother, Regina Mills that currently trapped the citizens of Storybrooke; she has been stuck with the role of "Savior". Yes, I detto "stuck". Because there is no other way to describe her situation, pre-"Dark One" curse. And she will continue to be stuck in the role, once she breaks free of the curse. Henry was the first to forced the role of "Savior". After Emma broke that first curse, her parents - Snow White and David Prince Chraming - and other citizens of Storybrooke enforced that role upon her as well. But I think this was a mistake on Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz's part. They should have dropped the "Savior" title, after Season One. Instead, they have allowed other characters, including the reformed Regina, to insist that she is the "Savior".

For me, this is so wrong on so many levels. Perhaps Kitsis and Horowitz are trying to re-create another Buffy Summers. Who knows? But this insistence that she has to be this savior who is supposed to be solely responsible for the lives of others and guarantee their happy endings is ridiculous. And it does not serve Emma's emotional growth as many believe it will. Instead, it has become something of a detriment to her character . . . an emotional straight jacket. As long as Emma continues to allow the others to dictate what she has to do for the rest of her life, she will never grow as an individual o as a character. Being "the Savior" should not have been her job descrizione in the first place. This is something that was enforced upon her da Rumpelstiltskin's scheming, because he wanted a way to the "Land Without Magic" in order to find his missing son, Baelfire. And the Storybrooke citizens - especially Emma's parents and Regina - have enforced this role upon her, due to their inability to see her as someone other than a glorified magical vigilante. There is no real law that she has to spend the rest of her life giving people "happy endings". I see no reason why she always has to be the one who has to defeat some magical Big Bad. Past seasons have allowed others like Regina, Rumpelstiltskin, Snow White, Henry and Anna of Arendelle (via emotional persuasion) to defeat o help defeat the Big Bad. So why is everyone still insisting that Emma has to be "the One"?

However, I fear that once Emma is freed from the "Dark One" curse, she will continue to allow everyone to squeeze her into some straight giacca labeled "Savior". Because of this belief that she always has to save someone, Emma ended up making one of the biggest mistakes in her life in the Season Three finale, (3.22) "There's No Place Like Home" when she tried to change the timeline and save Maid Marian's life. She thought that because she was "the Savior", she had the right to commit the dangerous act of changing the timeline in order to save someone who had died in the past. Yet, she also believed that Rumpelstiltskin did not have the right to change the timeline in order to prevent Neal's death. Not only were Emma's actions hypocritical, they also led to Zelena's resurgence in their lives (Rumpelstiltskin helped with his so-called act of murder). In the Season Four finale, (4.23) "Operation Mongoose, Part 2" she called herself saving Regina's moral compass - something which the latter never asked in the first place - from an entity that eventually led her to become the new "Dark One".

Four years have passed since Emma first found herself stuck with the role of "Savior". This role has proven to be something of an emotional strain for other fictional "saviors" and "chosen ones" such as Buffy Summer, Jack Shepherd, and Harry Potter. I find it odd that other than late Season One when Henry and August Booth aka Pinocchio kept insisting that she has to break that first curse, Emma has never really dealt with any emotional strain over being a "chosen one". And the only reason she found it a strain was due to her inability to believe Henry and August about the curse. I find this both odd and unrealistic. The longer other "chosen one" o "savior" characters were forced to accept this role, the harder it became for them to deal with it. Instead, Emma dealt with the problems of her relationship with her parents and Neal, the growing strength of her powers, Henry's amnesia in late Season Three, Regina's anger in early Season Four over her time travel escapades, and her parents' lies regarding Maleficent and the latter's child, former childhood friend Lily Page. But not since Season One can I recall Emma dealing with the pressures of being the "Savior".

It occurred to me that sooner o later, Emma needs to break free of that role/straight giacca in order to dictate her own life. I am not stating that she needs to stop saving others o stop being a town sheriff (despite being lousy at the job). But she does not have to make being the "Savior" a life long job description. If Emma continues down this path, she just might make another mistake on the same level as the one she made in "There's No Place Like Home" o make a decision similar to the one that led her to become the "Dark One" . . . o something even worse. And she will never have the freedom to be herself.

Swan Queen: The List

Parallels

Emma/Regina parallels:

Both fell in Amore as teenagers.
Both planned to run away with the people they loved.
Neither plan worked out. Instead, they both ended up alone and imprisoned.
Both Lost their loves and were imprisoned because someone else decided it was best for them, without caring what they would choose.
Both found their first loves again, but had to let them go.
Regina had to let go of Daniel three times: The first when he was murdered, the secondo when Rumple, balena and Jefferson fooled her into thinking...

"ONCE UPON A TIME" - Relationship Mystery

Since the seventh episode of "ONCE UPON A TIME" called (1.07) "The cuore Is a Lonely Hunter" aired, many viewers have assumed that the relationship between the Evil Queen aka Mayor Regina Mills and the Huntsman aka Sheriff Graham was one of rape. They believed that after ripping his cuore from his chest, Regina used it to force him into having sex with her. Ever since that episode aired, many have accused Regina of being a rapist.

I had believed this as well, until a few weeks ago. While Leggere a Tumblr account, someone postato an exchange between one...

Jamie Dornan in Vancouver:
We were at the hotel waiting for Colin O’Donoghue when we saw Jamie

Jamie’s reply: “Thanks guys!”

Lana Parrilla on Season 2 of OUAT and Regina's relationship with Henry

“My character, she’s Lost everything. She’s Lost everything. She’s Lost her power, and she’s Lost her son. She has nothing left, and that’s a really, really hard reality for her. Because here’s a woman who has been in control of everyone and everything apart from Rumple, Mr. Gold, for 28 years, if not more. It’s quite a jarring experience for her. I would say the biggest loss is Henry. Not so much the curse. I feel like curses can fail; curses can be lifted; spells could not work, and the Evil Queen can deal...

This is my take on the SwanFire debate. This is just how I saw what the mostra was portraying and then got really frustrated with Emma's personality glitch when it came to Neal.

First, Emma was absolutely scarred da what happened. It's why she lied to Henry about his father - she couldn't stand the thought of him finding out what his father had done to her. She made up a story about how his father was a hero who died saving lives.

All her life Emma was completely unloved. As far as she knew at the time she was abandoned as a baby on the side of the road - "[her] parents didn't even care enough...

The fresh blanket of snow found a sparkling crystalline appearance under the moonbeams that seeped through the albero branches. It was dark.
Silent.
Eerie.

Regina dug her hands into the snow, face twisted into a pained grimace. She was panting heavily (each exhale releasing a new trail of smoke) trying to regain control…mostly over her breathing.

Every bone in her body groaned when she moved. Every muscle straining and screeching…particularly her abs. She dragged herself along the ground seeking out the nearest albero to lean against. Breathing was becoming an agony...

First and foremost Regina has done so much più good than he has. Regina spent 2 seasons working at redemption and I think it paid off whereas Rumple is still lying through his teeth to Belle about how he's a changed man as he goes off to murder Zelena...the woman Regina spared and actually kind of saved. Regina's redemption arc has been really successful to this point. Rump's was a joke. Okay he stabbed Pan and saved everyone at the cost of his own life. That was the right thing to do. However he turned around and went for vengeance again, something Neal wouldn't have wanted done in his name....

I have made one of these before and since it's pretty late where I'm living I haven't got time to give explanations for why I find them pretty, so I'm just going to order them :)

2.Regina
3.Amara
4.Ariel
5.Aurora
6.Young Cora
7.Tinkerbell
8.Zelena
9.Older Eva
10.Milah and/or Jack

Please no rude commenti like saying people are "ugly" o anything like that, o I will segnala the person who detto it :)

Side note:
If Amara wasn't here, and it was just OUAT Emma would probably be here, but there wasn't room for her, considering how gorgeous I find Amara.

5. Ruby
I Amore her because she has gone through SO much and she's still one of the kindest/sweetest people in town. That makes her incredibly strong. She's unconditionally helpful to others. Even people she doesn't know that well o people she doesn't seem to like much. She's also such a loyal friend (especially to the Charmings and to Belle). Plus, she is full of personality and I Amore her bold style. And whenever she shows up on screen working as a waitress I get reminded to "Twin Peaks", which is something I love. She grabs all the attention. Ruby is also sassy and sexy without even having...
