Villains Are Cool; My superiore, in alto Fictional Female Villains

I absolutely adore a good and well written villain. From the crazies to the sympathetic ones with a tragic back story to the ones who do it for the lols, I Amore me a fun fictional baddie. And there are just so many of them, so here are my favorites. Listed as a count down.

I'll start with the honorable Mentions: Jadis and Nehelenia. I couldn't not put Nehelenia on this lista as she was pretty much the first villain I ever liked--I just didn't know I liked her at the time. When I was 5 years old, not gonna lie she kind of scared me. And that's part of why I Amore her character today. Jadis, most people know her as The White Witch as another character whom was simply kick-booty. There was just something about her. I think I have a thing for ice villains.

10. Beatrice (Uminkeo): I really Amore this woman. She is crazy. She kills people and brings them back to life. Why? Because she's centuries old and got bored. She's so much fun and has this really great psychotic laugh. What makes it even better is that she wears this Victorian ballgown and has her hair styled up in this prim, proper bun. She's this walking contradiction.

9. Lust (Fullmetal Alchemist): She is probably my all time preferito Anime character. I can appreciate that her name is Lust and she's a bigger breasted Anime character, and yet she isn't just eye candy. She can kick butt. And she doesn't act like a ditz as most of the big breasted Anime characters seem to do. And that's something I can get on board with.

8. Ming-Hua (Legend of Korra): Ming is just wow. She's just such a unique character. She has no arms. And yet she's still a fighter and she still drives the get away vehicle. The woman ain't let no disability stop her. On superiore, in alto of that, Ming is voiced da my preferito voice actress.

7. Isabella (BBC's Robin Hood): I Amore her because she is a sympathetic character. I Amore her because she doesn't take shit from anyone. She lives in this time where the females have little to no power and yet she rises to the superiore, in alto and earns herself a position as the sheriff of Nottingham. *Spoiler*She was sold da her brother into marriage with a physical and sexual abuser at a young age. And she put that man in his place. She used to be on the good side and then after getting stabbed in the back, in a way, she flipped. That's always a fun concept for a villain. *End of spoiler*

6. Nerissa (W.i.t.c.h.): I like her a lot più in the libri than in the show, but either which way she's an awesome villain. te first see her as evil, but then right off the bat te find out she used to be a Guardian...basically the W.i.t.c.h. world's protectors. However she was corrupted da the power *Spoiler*and killed her friend.*End of Spoiler* Nerissa is much fun as she is really an old woman, but she went and found a way to make herself young again. Like grandma went crazy! Nah, I Amore her she's such a cool character, she's sassy, snarky, and loads of fun. Also she genuinely hates people...like all of them.

5. Icy (Winx): Icy has a special place in my heart. She's the one who started it all in regards to my character obsessions. When I was like 8, I used to role play her. Not gonna like, at first I only liked her because she wore blue. Now I like her because she's simply badass. She doesn't give a crap. Icy does what Icy freaking wants. And no one gets in her way. Much like Nerissa she's snarky and sassy and always has these fun one liners. She's confident and doesn't give up--she's tried to take over the world like 4 times now...now that's persistence.

4. Kuvira (Legend of Korra): Yup, this woman is the newest addition to my collection of preferito villains. Kuvira is awesome. Who would have thought I'd Amore an animated dictator. This woman gets shit done! In just 3 years she pretty much conquered the entire Earth Kingdom. I also Amore her back story very very much. As a young girl, at the age of 8, her parents abandoned her. She was taken in da a woman named Suyin. *Spoiler* She ended up taking over her adoptive mother's kingdom. *End of spoiler* Another thing I Amore about her is that she did in the end redeem herself in away. Up until the end Kuvira really thought that she was doing the right thing--her intentions were in fact good. *Spoiler* In the end she realized she took it to far and owned up, accepting responsibility for what she had done and apologized to the general population and to those she personally victimized. *End of spoiler* And that's something I can get down with.

3. Bellatrix (Harry Potter): I. Love. Bella so so much. A few years back she was number 1. It was so hard to choose between she and the other 2. I Amore Bella for a vast many reasons. One of which is that she's evil for the lols. As far as we know she has no tragic past to make her how she is, she's just evil! And I Amore it. I Amore how she just enjoys torturing people, morbid as that sounds. She is a true and genuine villain. She's absolutely batshit insane. She's più fun than Nerissa with her I killed so and so chants. She sets things on fire, dances on tables, and skips around like a little girl. She's powerful and knows her stuff. She took on three people at once; one of which being Hermione and was still dominating. Bellatrix is love.

2. Regina (Once Upon A Time): I have to try to condense this. Because it's really long. For starts I Amore her depth. She's a really complex character and she gives new life to her Disney counter part. She shows that things are not just black and white. There isn't just good and evil. I also think that Regina is super brave, she put her life on the line multiple times. *Spoiler* And she did so for the people she hated about 2 o 3 times before she made her switch back to the good side. *End of spoiler* And I can admire that. That's some serious character development. Any character with a good tragic past and some wonderful development is a villain I can like. I also think she's really smart. I like villains that have brains and plan stuff out. Regina is life.

1. Azula (Avatar The Last Airbender): The woman was my number 1 villain at one point, then she kind of faded into the background, I have no clue why but my Amore for her resurfaced full-blast over the summer and I'm so glad because I didn't even realize how much I missed her.
I honestly don't even know where to start here. She's pretty, she'd deadly, she's crazy. I Amore her. She bends blue fire, how can I not Amore a character who bends my preferito color!? She's a firebending prodigy and it's freaking sweet! Much like Regina, Azula is calculating and smart and manipulative. She is the chess-master and she does it well. She's only 14 and she has accomplished much. And she didn't accomplish such through brute strength, she used her smarts. Like all the other characters above, she's complex and well thought out. *Spoiler* She had a breakdown due in part to her Friends betraying her and mother issues among other things. And I'm not just talking about crying and throwing things--I'm talking this poor girl was hallucinating her mother in the mirror. She had an all out break and it really deepened her character.*End of Spoiler* Azula is just an all around great character on every level. She is such a fascinating villain and I'm happy to place her at the superiore, in alto of my silly little list.

KataraLover I just knew that it was you who made this article when I saw it in my updates lol. Azula and Regina are also my top 2 favorite female villains and Azula is in my top 5 favorite fictional characters PERIOD! Katara is my favorite character on the show but I do find Azula to be more fascinating and interesting. If the creators made a show about her and her psychological journey, I would watch the hell out of it! Her and Regina are definitely some of the most well-developed fictional characters EVER! It's ironic that I used to not like Regina because now I ADORE her! I also love Ming-Hua and was so sad when stupid Mako killed her. I haven't seen season 4 of The Legend of Korra yet, so I can't judge Kuvira yet, but I do think I'll like her. I also love Jadis from The Chronicles of Narnia and I think that they should have kept her as the main villain in all of the books because none of the other villains come close to her awesomeness. I've only seen one episode of W.I.T.C.H. with Nerissa in it because it didn't come on a lot where I lived, so I don't remember much about her. I will admit that when I was a kid I did watch Winx Club but I would die if someone found out because I was a boy. Looking back on the characters, though I don't watch the show, I think Icy would be my favorite character and that I would HATE Bloom, even though I think Bloom is the prettiest character on the show (even though all of the characters look alike). I am kind of warming up to Bellatrix but not by much. Very well-written article, even though it wasn't that detailed. Nevertheless, very well-done.

zanhar1 x3 Azula and Gina are just freaking awesome I can't even describe just how awesome they both are. Like all of these girls are probably my all time favorites. I think Azula in general is one of the most interesting and deep characters out there. Oh I'd totally watch that so much. Like that would be my favorite show. Regina too, like she's so developed it's amazing. I'm glad you shifted to the Gina side. xP Freaking Mako is a bootymonkey, and I just can't with him. I hated him from the get go and that sealed the deal right there. I can't wait 'til you see Kuvi, she's badass. She reminds me of an adult Azula. Totally agree there, why did they kill Jadis, she was such a great character, the new villains ain't got nothing on her. The books were way better than the cartoons, I can actually link you to the comic version if you want. As of Winx, Bloom is just an outright terrible character, she's a Sue to end all Sues. *Plans to slowly talk about Bellatrix until the heat is all the way up*. :3 Thanks. Yeah this one wasn't as well-done as some of my other stuff, mostly because fellow randomers don't really read my articles as much so I don't feel as inspired should my work go unread. I also felt like I'd be doing the spoiler warning thing way too much if I put in my usual examples and it would ruin the article as a whole. But thanks.

KataraLover I'm definitely aware of how terrible a character Bloom is. But I have to say that it's kind of insulting to Icy and her friends that after season one they basically become lackeys to other villains when they (especially Icy) should be running the show instead of being minions. I also think it's insulting how they killed Jadis. I'm not sure how she died in the book because I listening to it on tape. But in the cartoon, Aslan just jumps on her and she vanishes into black dust. How the hell did that happen? And in the live-action movies he just eats her face. Talk about a gruesome way to die. She deserved a MUCH better death than that. She freaking put an eternal winter on all of Narnia for a hundred years, she's freaking badass and shouldn't be defeated that easily.

zanhar1 I actually just typed a thing about that bullshit; [i]Speaking of characters acting out of character; Icy is practically a different character all together.This Icy isn’t actually really Icy. Like this above all else pisses me off! I hate her! I freaking cannot stand her. And this is a character I used to pretend to be as a child! This is a character I still love…when discussing seasons 1-3. Seasons 1-3 Icy was badass. She had spunk. She had edge. She took shit from no one. She was indapenant and didn’t need a man…yeah she went for Valtor and Darkar, but at the end of the day she tossed them aside not the other way around. She was also super funny, snarky, and witty. Her insults weren’t cliche and immature as they are in recent seasons. She was actually hardcore…could roll with your up-there villains. So what has her character been sourly reduced to? A love sick puppy. She would have never put a douchecanoe like Tritannus before her sisters in pasts seasons. She wouldn’t have let him take charge like that—the first thing she said to Valtor is something like ‘you’re cool, just don’t try to give us orders.’ Also her freaking annoying new voice. I can’t even listen to seasons 5 and 6 Icy without cringing. Her 4kids voice actress was spot on and pleasant to the ears. God I miss Lisa Ortiz! She ain’t even look like Icy anymore, honestly.[/i] I stopped watching Winx after the disaster that was season 6. It was a complete trainwreck. I totally agree Icy ran things in season 1 and that was the best season. Why'd they have to downgrade she and her sisters? I hear ya on the Jadis thing too, it's like why did she have to die? She dies in pretty much the same way in the movies and book. Only she didn't poof into dust, her body actually lies there. And yeah he pretty much ate her face. Like dayum Aslan! She and Icy just need to make an eternal winter...in fiction...I've already had it up to here with driving through snow and scrapping ice off of my car!

KataraLover Wow! It sounds like the later seasons of Winx Club really ruined Icy. I heard there were several different English dubs of the show. My favorite was the 4Kids version where Musa sounded like a hipster and Tecna had some kind of accent. All of the voices in that version were absolutely perfect. I know what you mean because ever since I was a three or four years old I've always SHAMELESSLY LOVED Pokemon! In fact, a month ago or less I bought season 1 of it. Misty (the girl with the red hair, who in the Japanese version was known as Kasumi) is one of my favorite fictional characters and after season five they had her leave the show and that's when the show started to SUCK HARD! They ended up replacing her with knock offs and after the second knock off got rid of Brock. Then Ash ended up traveling with different groups. And for some reason these kids NEVER FREAKING AGE! There are more episodes of Pokemon than there are days in the freaking year! And to make it worse, in the later seasons with the first Misty knock-off they replaced the entire voice cast, which was an awful voice cast. OH IT BURNS ME UP SO MUCH! And it's all for the freaking sake of MONEY! They even ended up constantly changing the Team Rocket Motto when they got new main characters, which was my childhood. zanhar1 They did. And they ruined everything else too. Like all the characters are practically the same person now. They're all girly and obsessed with shopping and boys and it's really off putting for me as someone who acts more like a male than a female. I can't relate to any of them anymore and all the glitter and pink is annoying. Nick needs to stop wedging its...male parts 0:D into good shows. There are; there's Rai, 4kids, and Nick *shudders*. I loved the 4kids voices they were spot on with their casting. Icy sounded like the stone cold bitch she is and I loved it. Musa totally did rock the hipster thing and Tecna's accent was great. And then Nick shows up and Icy sounds like a Mean Girls esque ditz. All the other girls sound pretty much the same and they put no effort into the voice acting, it all sounds fake. Except why would they change the Team Rocket motto!? D: I don't even watch Pokemon and I love that motto! The deforst in my car is broke...so is the a/c and we ain't got the money to fix it. Dx I'm only 4'11" I can't reach the windows to scrape them lol!

KataraLover DANG YOU'RE SHORT! I'm about 5'9 or 5'10, but my defrost works. It's just my remote that locks and unlocks my car doesn't work and my dad is supposed to get it fixed. I definitely can't relate that much with the really girly characters, one of the reasons why I grew out of the whole Bratz thing, though I don't mind them and I do like some of their music like So Good. I'm a guy that likes girly things but I do have my limits with how much girlyness I can take. One of the reasons I love Ariel because she's both a tomboy and girly. I definitely hated those voices in the Nick version. When I heard that Nick was doing a version of the Winx Club I thought i'd give it a watch and it was all just jumbled together, rushed, and annoying. Yeah, just add Bloom in with Icy and her sisters and they'd definitely be the Mean Girls group. I don't know why the hell they'd change the Team Rocket Motto. But I also don't know why they replaced Misty with a bunch of irritating dimwits. Just shows that if a show runs too long that it can be ruined. Let's hope Once Upon A Time doesn't run too long and get ruined because it's my second favorite show after Avatar. It's unfortunately gotten boring because of the whole Frozen story arch. Basically the only fantastic things about it was the romance between Regina and Robin, getting Ingrid, Rumple getting what he deserves, the last two episodes, and an introduction to the Queens of Darkness. The second half does look promising and like what can get me back into being excited about what happens next, which the Frozen story arch didn't do. Just shows how Frozen is in the public TOO MUCH and needs to die down because it made a phenomenal show boring. Plus, Once Upon A Time until the Frozen story arch, only showed characters from fairy-tales and Disney movies that were timeless like Belle, Ariel, Jiminy Cricket, and so forth. Using characters that are too new makes it seem too dated and gimmicky. Oh well, I just know that the second half will be AWESOME!

I love my car, it gets me where I need to go, I'm glad I have a car. But it's got it's flaws...and I just hate driving in general. Same girly girly isn't for me, that's why I don't care for MLP. Winx used to not be girly despite the fairy thing. OMG I used to love Bratz, I collected them--I think I still have a whole bin of them in my basement! Not gonna lie I saw that Bratz live action, the soundtrack was catchy I still listen to it on occasions. Oh gosh no, you chose the wrong dub! Search up the 'real' version on YouTube lol. It's so much better. Seriously though can I just tell you how awesome you are for being a guy who likes Bratz and Winx and Disney Princesses!? Like screw gender roles no one needs them, props to you for liking what you like and not giving a crap. I can't fathom the Team Rocket change either. I haven't really seen Pokemon so I can't judge the dimwits lol but I can imagine how that'd be annoying. Yes! Winx is exactly like that! Too much of a good thing is not good! Sometimes it's better to just end it short and good than drag it out and run it dry and lame. Spongebob and the Fairly Odd Parents are the same. I can agree with that, it's like please please please don't ruin Once by dragging it out. Don't bring in characters like Dracula or superheros after you run out of Disney and fairy tales, that's too extensive! Plus superheros wouldn't makes sense as it's pretty much been established that they are fictional in the Once-verse too. I agree, to be frank I'm sick of Frozen. Really sick; this Christmas my mom had abc on and they had this whole Frozen Christmas parade where they promoted the hell out of it and that really did it for me. I didn't care for Frozen in Once, glad that's done, maybe now we'll get to see more of our old favorites like Gina, Snow, Charmin, and Henry. Maybe even Red, Archi, and now that Ursula is here, Ariel. I watched season 4A for OQ and Regal Believer. Also Regina and Emma or Snow scenes. Basically for Regina. I just wasn't as into season 4A and that made me really sad. But then again I actually think I was maybe more (and I'm not one to drop the D bomb) depressed. Shit wasn't going well and I just wasn't enjoying anything I loved back in October. I found that around November I actually started enjoying it more again. So maybe it was just me or maybe it was a combination of both Frozen and me lol. Ah yes, Rumps getting karma was splendid too. And dem villains, heck yeah!!! It'll be like a mini-house party of evils! Yesh!!! Frozen is too over-hyped and way over marketed. I think it's time is done, it's been a year. It's not like HP or the Hunger Games or even Twilight. I just don't get it. (Sorry any potential Frozen fan readers >.<). That's exactly why it rubbed me in the wrong way. But yeah, like you said...the next half seems so promising. Now how many times did I say lol...lol?

KataraLover I never collected the Bratz dolls, I only watched the show and the movies. Me and my sister used to joke that I should have been born a girl and she should have been born a boy because I like a lot of girl stuff and she's an EXTREME tomboy. In fact, there was a game on downstairs and I could here her screaming all the way up here. Also thank you, I'm quite proud of being a guy that's into girl stuff. It's really complete bull crap that if a girl is into boy stuff she's a tomboy but if a guy likes girl stuff he's gay or something. As for Once Upon A Time, I think they might bring some horror characters in because I think they hinted at it because Whale came to Storybrooke, despite not being a fairy-tale character but instead from Frankenstein. That's might be interesting if done right. Ariel is definitely going to appear, the creators confirmed it and I'm SUPER EXCITED! Also, I thought you couldn't stand Charming. I definitely can't wait for the second half because we're going to have three badass villainesses. Even since I've heard that was going to happen I've been listening to Selena Gomez's version of the song Cruella De Vil. Also I know short people are to be feared. Napoleon almost conquered the world!

zanhar1 The show and the movies were fun. My sister and I would watch the show after Winx. My sister and I are kind of like that, she's the girly one with all the makeup and jewelry. I'm the one who hates makeup and only owns odd looking jewelry. xD That's how my friends parents are with the game. And then I don't really care for sports unless I'm a player. Yeah that's an annoying double standard. It's like really, no one is 'gay' or 'a dyke' for their interests. I can see some horror story characters like the headless horseman, I just don't think they should bring in anime characters or something. Oh really, I actually haven't been reading spoiler articles this time, I'm kind of trying to make it a surprise lol. I don't care for Charming, but I like him more than the Frozen stuff and Gold is making him look really fabulous. Selena's version of that song is just so catchy. :3 Imma conquer the world one day. Gonna do it using an army of narwhals.

Me too lol.There are many ice villains that I like:Ultear from Fairy Tail(even though she also uses Time magic),Jadis,Icy,Alcyone(Magic Knight Rayearth)and Maria(Mermaid Melody) I just love you description of Nerissa especially the"like grandma went crazy"part because its so true XD.I kinda seem to have a thing for villains that are super old but can still kick ass. It was obvious for me that Azula was going to be on the top.I agree she's an awesome villain and deep and well written character.

She's an old lady, she's evil...grandma is pissed and crazy. I think that's part of why I love her character--because like you said any character that's like 60+ and can still kick someone's ass is great. Especially if they look like they are 60+ while doing so. :P Of course Azula has to be at the top. Though about two years ago Regina would have been number one and two years before that it would have been Bella. So it flops around a lot. Right now I'd probably have placed Nerissa at 5, Icy at 4, and Kuvira at 6. And Morgause would be on the list.
