Gender Roles in the Series

One of the things I find of most note in the Hunger Games trilogy is how gender roles appear to have generally been flipped with regard to the characters Katniss, Peeta, and Finnick. It is not simply that the rules have been flipped, as characters such as Haymitch and Primrose are più traditional while still regarded as acceptable. The individual characters are strong enough that the gender role difference is acceptable. Additionally, the foreign country of Panem can be considered a place where things are done differently, and its citizens are not judged the same way as modern Americans.

Ok so this is an opinion/review of the ever so popolare growing series of the hunger games. So I'll start with a little review and then will Amore to hear other people's opinions as well as mine.

As te know may know my precedente review was on the Percy Jackson series. I loved that series and if you're into fantasy that's a must read. This book was targeted at an older audience and I personally liked this book more. Not to say Percy Jackson wasn't for an older audience, I just think this will suit teens better than Percy did. Why Katniss is my Favourite Character

Basically, the main reason I like Katniss is because she is a refreshingly realistic, flawed character. She is also rare in another way - Katniss is a well thought-out, well-written female character, rather than just being there to be a Amore intrest for a male hero (this might have somethig to do with the fact that Suzanne Collins herself is female).

Book version: Katniss is dato the pin da the Mayor’s daughter, Madge. This comes as a surprise as she thought Madge didn’t like her. The pin is explained to be a subtle dig at the The Capitol, as Mockingjays were the comical result of a bio-genetic spying program that the general public gradually became aware of and used against the government.

For English class not too long ago, we had to write our own Shakespearean sonnet, since we were at the time going to start Leggere Othello.
