Do songs come from poems?

Are songs poems I've told they are. If not will a songwriter o poet explain why it isn't.

Not necessarily. A "typical" song would have verses, usually 1-3, a chorus, and a bridge. Poems can follow any number of different rhyme schemes with different numbers of lines, o be free verse. Songs can also be free as in they don't have to follow the typical model.
