That same day- at home Eric's perspective
If I was causing stress for her I might as well just left when I could. I cared for her. I even took care of her when she took ill in the future.
I remember it so well. I was walking into my house when my dad stopped me "Son, your mother is sick. Can te take care of her while I go to work?" he asked
I didn't have to answer I went straight into the bedroom. I saw her lying on the bed. She was pale white and her hair was all frizzy. I sat kneeled against the letto "Mother what's wrong?" I asked
She smiled weakly "Oh Eric. It's the horrible choice I made in high school. It arrived finally," she said
I frowned "What are talking about?" I asked holding her hand
She looked straight ahead "Not now honey. Mommy needs to sleep," she detto closing her eyes. She never did wake up. I never got to say that I lov-
"Eric are te coming in?" Tom asked interrupting my thoughts
I nodded and walked into the house and sat down on the divano Tom was sitting on. He turned on the TV.
I was very curious and wanted to know about Tom and Athen's childhood "So did te guys ever te know hang out when te were little?" I asked
He frowned "Oh sure all the time! She even taught me how to get girls. Listen dude I'm pretty sure that siblings don't hang out with each other o play together when they were little," he said
My face flushed "Oh. Are te sure?" I asked
He shrugged "I don't ask Athena. I don't remember that crap. She does. She remembers everything," he said
I nodded. That was true. She never forgot anthing. She even reminded me when it was my girlfriend's birthday and our anniversary.
"Why are te asking this stuff man? Did te ever do that with your siblings?" Tom asked
I looked inoltrare, avanti "Uh no. I am an only child," I detto lying
He nodded "Uh huh sure. Whatever te say man," he said
The phone rang before I had the chance to say "I'm not lying!" Tom got up and answered it.
"Hello? Who is this? Oh why hello my dear. What? Oh fine. ATHENA! It's for you!" he yelled
We hear a faint "I got it!" from upstairs and Tom hung up the phone. I asked Tom who it was and he detto it was Emily. We then heard a loud pitching scream and the sound of feet coming down the stairs "Really? They did? Awesome! Why? Oh wait it doesn't matter. What's that? He's at the mall? Oh my god I have to be there!" we heard Athena shrieking
Athena appeared and the bottom of the stairs phoneless and she quickly got her coat. Before she left she looked at us "If I am not home before mom gets here. Tell her I'm at the mall. Okay Tom?" she asked quickly
Tom hardly looked and mumbled "Fine,"
She glanced at me "You will make sure he does okay?" she asked
I nodded and she smiled "Thanks bye!" she detto disappearing out of the door. We heard a car start and go.
Tom rolled his head to look at me "Dude te are letting her take advantage of you," he said
I frowned and denied it but he kept going "Oh yes she is. She knows te like her so she is taking advantage of that and making te do stuff for her," he said
I stood up "Dude it's just a favor. Let it go. Where's your bathroom?" I asked
He had gone back to watching football "It's uh down the hall. Look and walk straight ahead until te hit a door. That's it," he said
I went down to the bathroom and did my thing. When I was finished I walked in the hallway and found her room. I smiled and pulled out Delor. I entered her room and started going over everything to see if there was anything that made her really sick in the future
Finally I got to the last drawer and I had Lost track of time. I opened it up and faced her drawer of undergarments. I guess I kind of froze there in shock and someone might take that the wrong way.
"Eric what are te doing?" Athena asked from the doorway
I gasped and dropped Delor. He landed on the clothes with a tiny thump. I looked at Athena. She didn't look mad. She almost looked curious and a bit amused "I uh uh uh it was uh" I then bolted out of the room rushing past her and ran out of the house.
As I ran down the strada, via I hear Tom calling after me "How are te going to get home?" he yelled
I panted "The bus!" I screamed
"Eric te forgot your device thing!" I hear Athena shout
I didn't say anything. I just kept running living my dignity and their house behind.

ciao Mom,
It's been a while
Since te sat successivo to me,
Since I saw te smile
I miss te Mom
I wish te were here
Giving me kisses
Holding me near
I can still see te Mom,
the laughing happy you
Not the ill broken women
Who broke my cuore in two
I'll always remember Mom,
te taught me well
To do good things,
And with Honesty tell
I'm telling te Mom
Losing te killed me
Laying a rose on your casket
Trying hard to be
Strong.
That's what te were Mom,
Strong.
In everything te said
In everything te did
So now I'll be just that
Strong like a mother, not like a kid
I wrote this in honor of any child who has ever Lost a parent.

His Melody
To quiet the tears
She sings him to sleep
When the morning has dawned
He can’t be roused from a rest so deep
She sings him to sleep
Night after night
And when he does not awaken
Her will to go on grows slight
She sits and waits while he’s away
She remembers his laugh and smile
Oh what a joy to see his joy
She lifts up a prayer “May I see him in a short while?”
She sits at the window and waits
The sun sets slowly behind the collina
The others say hello but she doesn’t hear
She is waiting to make the tears still
The time has come she cannot wait
She sets out to see her boy
To stop the tears
To bring him joy
But the tears she stills are not his
They fall from her eyes
She sings his lullaby again tonight
As she kisses the stone and her son good bye
To quiet the tears
She sings him to sleep
When the morning has dawned
He can’t be roused from a rest so deep
She sings him to sleep
Night after night
And when he does not awaken
Her will to go on grows slight
