House Season 1 Episode 4: Maternity

Full Recap

While in the hospital, the newborn Hartig daughter spits up and the mother is concerned because the baby hasn't eaten anything yet. The baby suffers a seizure. Later, a doctor who was in the room recounts the incident to another doctor in the OB/GYN lounge. He discusses the baby's bowel obstruction. House overhears their chat and quickly leaves.
House presents Baby Hartig and Baby Hausen to his staff. House thinks an infection is spreading throughout the hospital, but Dr. Cuddy doesn't believe it's an epidemic. House takes his doctors in the maternity ward to check the twelve newborns in the hospital. But they do find another baby in the overflow rooms with a sudden fever and similar symptoms.
House and crew discuss three- perhaps four- sick bambini and the symptoms. With a spike in fever and low blood pressure, these children could be dead in a day. The group decide it's likely a bacterial infection. Since there's no time to wait for test results, House orders the treatments to be started. Each baby gets an MRI, but nothing shows up on the scan, so the doctors administer two broad-spectrum antibiotics. One of them starts causing the kidneys to shut down in two of the several babies. But which one? Stopping both antibiotics will kill both babies, but leaving them on both treatments will have the same result.
House says there's no point in guessing, so he takes Baby Hartig off the Aztreonam and Baby Chin-Lopino off the Vancomycin, fully aware that which ever child is receiving the ineffective antibiotic will die.
Dr. Cuddy and a hospital lawyer domanda the wisdom of changing the treatments without fully informing the parents. He argues that this experiment will save at least six più babies, so Cuddy gives him the green light, as usual. Later, the Chin-Lopino baby's health begins to worsen, with a falling cuore rate and blood pressure. The doctors rush in to a code, trying to shock the baby back to life, but he dies. This proves that the Aztreonam doesn't work, so House instructs his staff to cover the rest of the bambini with Vancomycin.
Chase informs the team that the Vancomycin isn't working either as the Hartig baby is getting worse. House performs an autopsy on Baby Chin-Lopino and realizes that it's a virus, and that is affecting the babies' hearts. Foreman complains that it could be any one of a thousand different viruses. However, with the amount of blood in the babies' bodies, they can only run five o six tests. So the team tries to narrow down the lista of possibilities, and ends up with eight. They also take blood from the one healthy newborn in the hospital to use as a control.
The sick bambini all test positive for Echo virus 11, CMV and Parvo virus B19. But the healthy baby tested positive for Echo and CMV antibodies. House realizes that these infants still have their mothers' blood and immune systems, so he orders a test on the mothers to see what they have antibodies for. Whatever the women are missing is what is killing their kids. Finally, the doctors settle on Echo virus 11. They get an experimental antiviral from Pennsylvania.
Chase and Foreman bring good news to the Hartigs. Their baby is recovering- all of the bambini are recovering. That night, House is still obsessed with determining the person who was spreading the virus. He observes an elderly maternity ward volunteer coughing and wiping her nose as she pushes around a carrello of baby toys and stuffed animals, and puts the last piece in place.

"What kind of explanation is that?"

Explaining House was already hard enough. Explaining his hallucinations to the person they were about, and who is probably the most important person to know ABOUT them, was even harder. If, THAT even makes sense.

"I really don't know how to explain it any other way."
"Well, think of another. It made sense up till, te started explaining what they meant."
"Isn't it...a given?"
"Yes."
"So what's there to explain?"
"How it's possible."
"Why not?"
"I can't even begin to...fathom, how it's possible."
"Again, why not?"
"Because--it's, House."
"Just because he's House, doesn't...

So... I have two theories on the alleged death this season finale and here they are:

1:

What if Kutner's death shows House the dangers of carrying around guilt? Keeping things carefully hidden and letting them simmer for years? (Kutner's dead parents... House's youth, Amber, Infarction) and he suddenly feels forced to let all of it out because House just doesn't want to die that way?(after years of pain for both of them it's such an easy exit)

Secluded, private, troubled, damaged House letting things out? Hell, that'd break me down! I mean he pushed everything as far away as he could and it just...

I was just watching some clips from season 2 and mostly 3 and I really enjoyed them.
And I already new that but now I know it more!
I miss the old team!
I miss Cameron's Poor Dead Husbands issues!
I miss Chase's daddy and fat issues!And his hair!(yum!)
I miss foremans eye-rolling when Cameron was being ethical!
I missed all that!
I want the old team back!
The new team hasn't really grew on me now...
I mean 13 has grew on me but foreteen really is ruining her for me and I really don't care about Taub.
And ok Kutner is super hot and funny but he is just not enought.
When are they going to bring the old team back?
I really want to cause if they don't I have this weird fear that 13 is gonna end up baciare house as every female on the show!
I think that the new team experience was ok and fun to watch but now its time to go back to the basics and brink the old cottages back!

Do te agree?Say in the comments!
One knows one is bored when one thinks too much about the philosophy of television...

I Amore Monk, the mostra about an obsessive-compulsive man who assists the police da solving crimes with his unusually accurate eye for detail. Unfortunately, Televisione stations like to annoy me da either taking the shows I Amore off-air o moving them to time-slots that only stay-at-home-mothers can watch when their kids are at school, o when the only people awake are drug addicts and insomniacs. This happened with Monk, which was first moved to a late-night time-slot and then to an afternoon slot.

Anyway, I...

NOT MINE.

In the unlikely event that anyone on this spot cares enough about Wilson to read this :P , here's an extract from the link "Difficult Characters" written da Doris Egan (one of the writers of House MD), in which she writes a few things about Wilson's character. The complete articolo also includes analysis of characters from different stories she has written.

In a novel, it would be easy to lay out [a character's] thoughts. In a visual medium, the viewer has to do the work themselves, and here's the problem: we're used to there only being one answer.

Take Wilson, a complex character on...

Why did the chicken attraversare, croce the road?

House: The chicken crossed the road because it had some weird illness it got while being shipped from Bahamas to US and it messed up it's brain.
Of course, maybe the chicken didn't attraversare, croce the road, maybe I just hallucinated that.

Cuddy: The chicken crossed the road because House didn't want to do his clinic duty and it had to take care...

I've known them for quite a while,
and many years have passed,
we're always irritating each other,
so it surprises me that we last.
But lately things have changed,
more so than they could,
a sadness fills the air,
more so than it should.

There's been tension between them,
here there are no lies,
but something bad is going on,
and it's hidden behind their eyes.
I know how they feel about the other,
and I know that they're both true,
but there's been a different feeling forming,
something foreign, something new.

It's a Amore that's been progressing,
something that's been left unsaid,
like a silent whisper calling,...
