Indescribable, that's all Marlene could think when she saw what lied beneath Lilly's ribbon, it was so grotesque that Marlene had almost screamed in disgust, but she couldn't, she had to let the team rest. That was a night ago. Now they had to go find Herelde, the woman with the mirrors. When Skipper, Kowalski, and Rico woke up, Marlene was curled up in a fetal position, shaking and sweating. "Marlene, what happened to you?" asked Kowalski. Before Marlene could speak, Lilly started to talk, tightening her ribbon. "She merely had a nightmare, she should be fine," detto Lilly, giving Marlene a look that said: 'You better agree with me!!' Marlene could only nod nervously. "You alright Marlene?" asked Kowalski. "Y-y-y-yeah, I'm fine, just had a nightmare, it was just very vivid," detto Marlene. "Then it's fine, we'll be okay, it's the monsters we gotta worry about," detto Skipper. "Alright fellows, we got to get a sposta on, we must find Herelde and go through her warehouse," detto Private, waking up. Rico then barfed up a bomb and blasted the metal block out of the way. Lilly went over to Marlene and whispered. "Never tell ANYONE, what's under my ribbon, o I'll kill te in the most violent way possible," detto Lilly. Marlene nodded and drooped down, very depressed da this bullying girl.
Remembering the Digger's words to follow the path out the dark forest until they reach Herelde's house of mirrors. Since the Blood Night was eternal darkness, they had to follow the light of the moon o stars to see anything in front of them. Along the way, the group saw dead, gory, bodies of humans, Bones hanging on ropes attached to albero branches, blood in puddles and smears on the ground, and multitudes of severed limbs, Private even found the severed head of Alice, the zookeeper. "Put that thing down Private, it's been rotting for days," detto Skipper. "Okey dokey Skippah," detto Private, setting Alice's severed head down. Then, a large bat-like creature swooped in, nearly grabbing Rico, but he was fast enough to dodge it and hack it up with a chainsaw, he chuckled and set the chainsaw off and swallowed it back down. At last, after a long 2 days of walking, they saw a cottage among the ruins of a skyscraper, it was a rather small, shopkeeper's cottage, only 2 stories high and with a water wheel, but the railposts on the steps to the house were lined da human Bones and skulls, some with flesh still attached. Nervously, the group walked up the steps, to the door of Herelde's cottage.
Lilly knocked on the door, waiting for the strange old woman to open it. Suddenly, a large head of an eyeless reptilian creature popped out the bacheca nearby, trying to grab at Kowalski, it barely nipped him da the time it decided to give up and retreat back to its lair. The door finally opened, Skipper, expecting to see a demonically possessed woman, hugged Lilly and waited. Oddly, a demon didn't pop out at all, in fact, a tenderly-looking old woman came out, with the appearance of a friendly grandmother that wants to give te a cookie. "Hello- Strange, I've never seen penguins in this Blood Night before, how may I help you?" asked Herelde, wiping off a stain of dirt from her wide-brimmed hat. "Youre Herelde?" asked Skipper. "Why yes, I'm Herelde, the mirror hoarder, what do te want?" asked Herelde. "We need directions to Lord Murdoch's castle, any way te could lead us there?" asked Marlene. Herelde pushed up her glasses and then got a look of discertainty. "Why psssshh, te won't find no castles here, Dr. Murdoch lives in a skyscraper, but no one knows which one, but I can give te a direction, follow me," detto Herelde.
They followed Herelde into the mysterious cottage, she had cups and bowls on flames brewing a mash of some sort in them. "Are te a witch?" asked Private. "Nah, these ain't no potions, this is my oatmeal, very plainly flavored, so I don't eat em much, but my sister Herrera's a witch, a very good witch indeed," replied Herelde. She led them to the superiore, in alto floor, where all her mirrors were. "Look at this mirror right here," detto Herelde, holding a hand mirror for putting on make up. "Whats the point of it?" asked Skipper, very impaciently. "Find out for yourself sourball," replied Herelde. Private then held it up to the window, and saw the light of the moon shine down and make a reflection on the mirror. "Of course!!!" detto Private smiling. "What is it?" asked Kowalski. "Break the moonlight!!! The Digger wanted us to break a mirror that reflected the moon's light!!" cheered Private. "At a boy Private!!" detto Marlene, patting his back. "I was thinking something like that too though," detto Kowalski. "Dont take credit ya copy cat!!" detto Lilly, slapping Kowalski. "She's a tough cookie Kowalski, remember that," detto Skipper, Rico chuckling and whistling flirtatiously behind him.
"May we break this mirror Herelde?" asked Private politely. "Of course, I hate this mirror anyway, smash it away," detto Herelde. Then, Rico snatched it from Private, and smashed onto the ground, the shards spreading on the floor with a loud crash. "We follow where the shards point, and the direction here is Southwest," detto Kowalski. "Then we go southwest!! Good job men!!" detto Skipper high-fiving his teammates. They waved goodbye to Herelde after packing up to go, and Private ran in and hugged Herelde. "You are the grandmother I never had," detto Private. "Well ain't that just sweet, I'll be here all my life boy, but te have to go follow your men," detto Herelde, patting Private's head. "Private come on!! We're setting off!!!" shouted Skipper. "Coming!!" yelled Private, running to Skipper. Herelde waved goodbye and shut her door to her cottage. When they left the cottage, Lilly's ribbon began to bother her a lot, she had grown a couple of inches since the 2nd giorno of the quest, and with her taller body, she had to loosen the knot in her ribbon more. Worst of all, it stung her neck for some reason, perhaps she has it too loose? "Ugh, guys, I need to stop really quickly, I need to fix my ribbon, it's really bothering me," detto Lilly. "We'll give te a few minutes," detto Skipper, waiting. After a while, they continued going, throught the southwest direction Kowalski pointed out.
