When the family hug finally stopped, it was getting late (it already was).
"I'm so happy, this will be your first night home!" Urka said.
Rico shook his head. "I already have a home."
"Oh then. Are te still staying?"
"No."
Urka nodded. "Wherever you're going, my boy, we'll go."
"Rico lives with his Friends in America," Ru said.
"All the way in America? How are we suppose to get there before night?!"
"One of his Friends build a machine to take us here, and back," Rica said.
"Plus, one of his Friends came with him!" Ru explained.
Urka looked around. "Are te sure you're not in a crazy stage?"
"Kowalski!" Rico jumped, and franticly looked around for his friend. He, Rica, and Ru checked the bushes. Ru dragged Kowalski out.
"Oh, my!" Urka ran over, along with the others, to help out.
When Kowalski woke up, he was in a leaf-lined nest. Urka looked down at her patient.
"Sorry, it's too dark for te to go home tonight," she said.
"The wolves," Ru shuddered.
Urka covered Kowalski in a erba woven blanket, as he sat up.
"Uhh, what happened?"
"Musta fainted," Rica said, not really caring.
Rico made one of his crazy motions of fainting, it took a solid 30 seconds.
Urka giggled, and the lovebirds flirted once more.
Ru went up to Kowalski and explained what happened, and how they couldn't get home tonight. "Or the wolves," she finished.
"Oh, please. I can take out a few wolves," Kowalski bragged.
Ru shook her head. "Don't think about trying."
"Oh, I made te some dinner," Rica said, handing Kowalski a clay bowl. "Fish stew."
"Yum," Kowalski detto sarcasticly. "Where's the spoon?"
"What's a spoon?" Rica asked. Kowalski shrugged and slurped it from the bowl.
It was the best thing he had ever tasted!!! Even better than those old pesce from the boat, back then!
"Made it myself," Rica said.
"Wow," Kowalski said, licking the bowl clean. "Got any more?"
"A whole night's worth, my boy!" Rica chuckled, and got him more.
Ivy groaned loudly. "When are they coming back?"
"Soon," Private said, "soon."
Johnson looked at the clock. "Actually, in the time zone they're in, it's late night."
Ivy moaned, and whispered to Private. "Do te know my secret?"
"Yes, I think we all do, Private whispered.
"It's.... It's...."
Ivy moaned and groaned. She petted her swollen belly. "They'd better be back soon, I can't stand this."
"I know, I know," Private comforted. He had really no idea of the pains she was going through, but it couldn't be anything too bad. He though, but was wrong.
"So, uh, Skipper," Johnson asked. "Want to play a card game?"
"Nah,"
"Bored game?"
"Nah,"
"Something to pass time?"
"Nah,"
Skipper stared at Ivy. No matter, she was in pain. she squeezed Private's flipper. Her eyes closed and sprang a new fontana of tears.
"I can't orso it!" she screamed.
"Close your eyes, everything will be just fine," Private said.
"No it won't," Ivy had trouble saying the words.
"It will be okay, it's okay."
Private's words soothed her, and Ivy fell asleep.
The Lupi howled outside. Urka and Rico shuddered in their nest, but still askeep. Rica was also asleep, snoring. Ru was sitting at the table, weaving some erba together. She dropped it and ran to her nest.
Kowalski settled down in the nest, under his blanket, it was surprisingly cold. He was almost asleep, when he realized.
The machine is still on! Anything could acidentally go through it! The wolves!
"GUYS WE GOT TO GO!" he shouted, jumping out of the nest.
The others stirred, and jumped out of their nests.
"The machine is still on! Anything could get through!"
"We can't go out with all the wolves!" Ru cried.
There was più howling.
"Do te want to risk it," Kowalski gritted.
"We can't risk it, but simply going out there would be risking it!" .Urka exclaimed.
"The Lupi could go through and get the rest of the team," Kowalski said, annoyed.
"Yeah!" Rico said. "We go!"
Rica stepped in, then Ru. Urka still wouldn't agree.
"It's too risky!"
"We're not leaving you!" Rico said.
"We will protect each other the whole time!" Ru explained.
Urka looked outside. There was più howling.
Rico threw an unlit bomb at her. They smiled at each other.
"Okay fine."
Any guesses as to Ivy's secret?
