Its reaping day! My name will be in the bowl 4 times. I have a chance of being picked. I live in districe 2 so most of us dont need to put our names in più times to feed our families, I have a chance of being picked!
Shut up! There are over 7000 different names in that bowl and evein if i got picked there is a good chance someone will volunteer foir me. Someone wants to represent our district with pride. The odds will be in my favour!
"Adia, will te help your brother get dressed?" i hear my mother cry.
"Of course Mother. Evan where are you?" Evan is my two anno old who doesnt evem know what is going on today.
"Eye here Aya." I hear him shout from behind our sofa. Bless him, he cant even say my name yet.
"Lets get te washed and dressed!" i scooped hime up and carried him upstairs to our bathroom.
After I washed and dressed Evan I had to get ready myself. I took a doccia even though im pretty clean and I put on my favourite rosa dress.
"Adia hurry up, we need to get going!" I heard my father bellow.
"I'm coming." to watch people get sent away and may never come back!
We walk the short distance towards our giant square. I sign in and make my way towards the other 15 anno olds.
"Olive!" I shouted at my friend.
"Hey Ad, are te exited?" the thing is, at home we are like the only family in our district who despise the games but if the peace keepers found out, we would be in so much trouble. So at school and when we are out, we have to pretend we Amore it.
"Totally! Maybe this anno one of us will get picked!" I say with so much false enthusiusm.
"Yeah, no volunteering though if im chosen." Olives says.
"Of course not, dont volunteer for me either." I wink back at my best friend hoping this isnt the last time i see her.
" Can we have your attention please?" our Mayor cries out, I looked at our Mayor. He was tall and not that bad to look at but te could tell he has had work done in the Capitol. successivo to him was a precedente victor from our district, Enobaria. To be honest she scares me. Our escort from the capitol was also there. Her skin was a light purple and she had bright straight, blue hair. I never pay attention to what people are saying so i dont evem know her name.
Our Mayor showed us a video which again i payed not attention to and then our escort started talking. Soon she will be Leggere out the names of the unfortunate!
"Happy hunger games and may the odds be ever in your favour!" she says.
"Lets begin with the boys!" I watched as she placed her purple hand in the bowl.
"Kenden Howser." I watched an unfamillier face walked onto the stage.
"Are te Kenden?"
"Yeah im so glad i finally get my turn!" people like this. I hate!
"Ok next, the girls." my cuore was beating fast in my chest.
"Good luck!" whispered Olive.
"You too!" I detto back.
"Adia Walter!" my cuore stopped.
