I wasn't really raised anything. My parents never said anything about religion at all, good or bad.

Not like my parents came and told me I had to be an atheist, but it definatly would have been weird if I turned to be a believer. Also, my dad comes from a jewish family and my mom from a catholic family, and neither of them believe, so...

Kinda the same as misanthrope--both my parents are atheists, so I was influenced by them in that sense, but they would have supported me whatever I believed.

I have been brought up and am (I can't turn back time and stop my baptism/communion and by then it was too late to stop my confirmation, I may as well have went on with it and I did), anyway, I am a Roman Catholic but I don't believe in the beliefs.

Just asked her and APPARENTLY my mum is Christain - first i've heard of this!! lol But my Dad is a complete non believer i wasn't really raised to believe anything never really touched on the subject at all - except for when i asked my mum if she believed in heaven and her respnse was "aw i dunno"

My parents made sure that I knew about both sides of the argument; theism and atheism, but they left the decision up to me and said that whatever I chose to believe was fine with them. Their beliefs never made much of an impact on my decision.

My parents are both Christians and my brothers and I have been christened but no one in our family does anything religious. I asked my mum if she believed in God and she said 'I think there's some things we can't explain'. What kind of stupid answer is that?!

I was raised going to Sunday school and church every now and then when I was a kid, but once I started getting older I just thought it was boring and a waste of time...
I can tell my mom has a problem with me being agnostic, and dating an atheist, but I really don't think it should matter at all.

My atheism was an accident, really. My Mum isn't religious, but my Dad considers himself to be a Christian, though he doesn't go to church or anything. So, I went to Sunday School every Sunday until I was about 10, 'cause I guess they wanted me to be raised with something. One Sunday, I said I didn't want to go, mainly 'cause I was feeling lazy and bored. However, they took it as a rejection of Christianity, and never took me to Sunday School again, for fear of pressuring me into something I didn't believe in. So, had I gone to Sunday School that day, it's possible I would still be a Christian, though I hope that's not true.

My parents are both atheists. My Dad comes from a Christian family, but my Uncle and Aunty are Buddhist. But neither of them are themselves.

But they didn't force there beliefs on me and made sure i made my own mind up on religion.

My mum is a Humanist, and my dad considers himself Christian. My parents let me make up my own mind, making me think for myself. However, they are both biologists so I never even had a glimpse of doubt on evolution or anything Science based that contradicted religion- so I guess I was brought up more on the atheism side of things

I was raised super Christian. It took a long time for me to realize there wasn't really any evidence supporting my beliefs.

My father is a catholic, but he doesn't really practice it. I'm not even sure he beliefs. My mother was brought up christian, but does not believe.
We went to catholic church only with christmas and easter and stuff. I did take my holy communion, but I'm not sure I even believed then (can't remember). Anyway, it was more of a tradition from my fathers side of the family. (and I got a pretty dress and a big party and lots of presents, which I think is enough reason to take your communion when you're eight).
My parents don't have any problems with me being an atheist. The only person who seems to care is my grandmother, but I think she is the only one in my family who really believes.

My dad had a very strict religious upbringing, my mother was raised in a christian household that was quite relaxed, but they left us (me & my siblings) to decide for ourselves. We all went to religious schools though, because most of the better schools in my area are religious, but that was the only pressure one way or another. I am an atheist, my brother is agnostic, and my sister is Christian so I think they did a good job of accepting our choices and beliefs.

my parents are both baptised - though in different religions, but they are both atheist. I never felt any pressure to believe or not believe this or that, at least not from my parents. my aunt and uncle tried to show me the light when I was about 13 or 14 but other then that I made my mind up about religions, the Church and beliefs

My parents were cristan, and dicied to have their own belives when they got married and I was raised a atheist, but we're nice people so we don't really need a religon.

neither- it was my decision and my decision alone. i don't consider myself religious in any way. i never went to church or got baptised and although i did go to a church school in my teens, i always felt i had no interest in religion whatsoever.

i was raised christian and am still forced to go to church every sunday until i'm 18. my parents had me baptised as a baby too, which i think shouldn't have been their decision. i have no respect for my beliefs in my house... i'm not even allowed to be a vegetarian! its eat meat or go hungry. i think that ones funny though because the bible says nothing about animals being on the earth so we can murder them and eat 'em just because we think we're superior to everything.its not right to murder one of gods creatures blah blah blah. thats what i tell my mom. lol.

My whole family are hands down Christians. They believe and practise Christianity and (unfortunately) are very closed minded and accept nothing else and no one else's opinion. I used to believe when I was younger, then I began getting really confused, and realizing that religion is not as perfect and right as they told me. I'm baptised, but I never felt like one of them in that matter...

Religion was never really discussed when I was growing up. We just never discussed God or religion or anything. So I just assumed everything was as it was, with no supernatural explanations... Although I like to believe in vampires.

I was raised without any religion at all. We didn't go to church or anything, and I didn't even really learn it existed until I was a few years old.
My parents basically just let my brother and I decide for ourselves, after raising us to be critical thinkers and make our own decisions. They've said they'd support whatever we wanted to do when it came to religion, and offered to take us to church if we ever wanted to go.
I asked my dad, and he's an atheist too, and my mom I'm pretty sure is an agnostic, possibly bordering on atheist.
My dad was raised in a religious household, and my mom is from Russia, they didn't really have Christianity over there.

I wanted to be an atheist, and no one forced me to believe in a religion. So it made sense to be an atheist.

I was raised in a strictly Christian household but later became Atheist because I saw too many flaws in religion. My parents don't know about me being Atheist because they'd probably freak out so I just keep it to myself.

My parents said that it was my decision in life to choose my religion but I was so sick of stupid stories and religion holding you back in life that I just said "Fuck this-I'm Atheist."
