Kate lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling. Her fingers traced shapes in the air aimlessly.

She felt numb all over..like she'd never move or be happy again.

She heard her bedside lamp crash to the floor, but she didn't move or care.

Lenzetta walked down the hallway smiling to herself until she heard a loud crash. She gasped and ran towards the sound when she got to Kate's room.

"Kate? Are you okay?" she said as she entered. "I heard a crash!"

Kate slowly turned her head.

"Oh......hi.....", she said foggily. She paused, knowing Lenzetta was familiar but not remembering her friends name.

"Lenzetta...", she finally managed. "I'm.......fine..."

"Are you sure?" Lenetta questioned softly, making her way over to satnd by Kate's bed.

"need to talk about anything?"

Kate closed her eyes and dropped her hand.

"I...don't...know..", she muttered faintly.

Lenzetta frowned.

"Well I'm here if you need to talk," she said.

"I'm lost", Kate muttered, faintly shaking her head.

"Lost?" Lenzetta questioned. "How so?"

"I dunno....", Kate muttered, blinking slowly.

"It's just......I feel....gone....like I never want....to move again....empty..."

Leah stopped eating. Was that a crash?
She stepped curiously toward the sound. It sounded like it was coming from Kate's room. She quickly scampered to the door and knocked.

"Whatever", said Kate in response to the knock.

Lenzetta rolled her eyes and answered the door.

"Oh...Leah," she smiled sadly. "Uh...come in..."

Leah cautiously shut the door once inside. "You guys okay?"

"Fine", Kate muttered, sliding to the floor with a thud. "Raid, anyone?", she asked in a monotone.
