Many would simply flip out, like Ron and Harry, possibly McGonagall... Dumbledore might like it, he's always been weird, that one. The rest would definitely gossip behing their backs. Some would be dissapointed, Molly Weasley for example. People are expecting Ron and Hermione to be together (why, my dear author, why?!?!?!?!), so it would be a huge shock.

No, there's only 19 anno age difference between Severus and Hermione. Where have te ever seen a 19-yr-old grandfather ? (Not to be confused with the age difference between Alan Rickman and Emma Watson as here indeed, he could be her grandfather... but we're talking about the characters here, not the actors.)

lol the mention of Severus served as cena to Nagini ! OMG hope not ! But you're right, Voldemort would be in a rage. Unless Severus is cunning enough to make him think that Hermione is just a pet for him. There are some fics following that storyline. Severus is cunning enough to lie to his Master on that matter.
